Heinze To Real: A Blessing In Disguise

i will hold my hands up and say i would like if he had of signed and would have improved our squad.

but just look at how ARBELOA has stepped up this year.

has been consistant and played quite well in our side this year
has saved the club 7.8 million plus wages
has youth on his side and time to improve
could play anywhere in the back 4
    has more pace than heinze
    composed and a decent passer

anyone else think things worked our well in the end???
"Sky and Setanta have the right to choose their games and it will be the same for everyone. So Mr Ferguson will not be complaining about fixtures and a campaign against United.

"Or there is another option. That Mr Ferguson organises the fixtures in his office and sends it to us and everyone will know and cannot complain. That is simple."

He got skinned on saturday by none other than John Utaka though.

But yes, he's been a revelation.

Utaka will skin many a player this year - no shame in that.

There isn't a defender on this planet that hasn't been skinned. Arbeloa has really surprised me. He looks a proper quality signing by Rafa and if he continues improving like he has done over the last month or so he may turn out to be one of Rafa's best buys.

Never wanted Heinze. Too slow for full back IMO.
Plus he's tainted. And he's one dirty fecker as well.

          Madrid are welcome to him.

whats the big deal, utaka is fast if technically limited?

im still a riise fan myself but both arbeloa and aurelio have something to offer. heinze would have been an asset in the rougher epl games but i wouldnt personally pick him in lfcs strongest 11. it would have been nice to have got one over on winesoak but hey ho, we essentially forced his sale and with the scum now down another fullback, theyre gonna have a stretched squad until jan

              That's true!
Let's do a swap deal. Utaka for Crouch. Pompey are rumoured to be in for him.

just never saw why Rafa was so desperate for Heinze.

I agree he's a good player but he's not a huge improvement over any of or other left backs.

I think Heinze is best as part of a three man defence. He's not the most mobile for a left back and his positioning was often dodgy last season when he played CB for The Scum.

He's someone who would have slotted nicely into our squad without bringing any huge improvement to our resources.

Alvaro Arbeloa is much, much better than Heinze IMO!

But it was never a case of arbeloa OR heinze though.

Not yet imo, but if he keeps going the way he is then he certainly will be.

Personally i always though that Heinze was being signed for left-back and also cover for CB, and that Arbeloa would challenge Finnan for RB, with Riise being moved on.

                          Irrelevant now though.
