Pennant has been poor the last two games. Expect Gerrard to resume duties on right midfield sometime soon in the future.

Kuyt was ridiculously good and deserves a pint off most of the players for rescuing them.
Mascherano had to do the entire midfields job for them and was outstanding.

Why do people suddenly want Gerrard to play on the right again? When he was playing there last season people were going spastic at Rafa.

The Pennant bashing is getting boring, on the whole he's had a good season so far.

pennant needs to get back to his c.l final best. he was awesome in that game imo.
i'd rest gerrard for the next game after that manc count mclaren decided to play the worlds best midfielder with a broken toe, by injecting him with some jollop that will proberbly make his willy drop off in 10 years for a pointless tournament that we will do **** all in

A couple of weeks ago Pennant was a world beater who should be called up to the England squad, and now he is not good enough for Liverpool.

              Fickle, fickle, fickle.

If ever the saying "you're only as good as your last game" was proven then surely its here.

Pennant has been our most consistant player since Christmas but after last night the "I told you so" brigade are smirking with delight. FFS even glad that he is suspended.

Incidentally those of you who think Quaresma would be great obviously havnt got a clue. Yes he had the ball a lot of the time but his crossing, free taking, and general distribution was pathetic. Did none of you actually hear him being booed by his own fans.

I have never said that Pennant is a world beater and he will probably never be that. He isn't clever enough on the pitch to be that. He hasn't a good enough sense to understand when he should make a final pass or finish himself.

He makes a lot of crosses but a lot of them is very poor.

Pennant for England, don't make me laugh. His poor defending put Finnan under a lot pressure.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Reina, Carragher, Agger, Finnan and Mascherano are the only ones whom you can argue to have been more consistent during the last 9 months and none of them are attacking players, who are usually more erratic. How did Kuyt and Aurelio get into your list, I have no idea and Gerrard has hardly been consistent last season.

Pennant has done extremely well in the last 9 months but unfortunately, since his name doesn't end with "inho", he's never good enough for some.

I am sorry but he was wasteful and is definately not worth £20m.

If he was that good, he should have taken advantage of a way below par performance from us.

The sign of a good team is when you get a result from a **** performance. That is what we were yesterday and to me that was the only positive.
