I think you need to learn that football is a team game. If Pennant isn't prepared or able to do the dirty work then he can **** off because everyone else is prepared to do the dirty work or they can start looking for another club, Cisse is a good example of that.

I think my idea of a winger is different than a few on here.Pires was my favourite of recent years.Intelligent,could go past defenders,could score,could assist and had super skill.Pennant is not Liverpool class.

Admittedly, I'd like him to get more goals but he's doing enough to be in the team at the moment.

I have been pleasantly surprised by him. For the majority of last season he was muck but over the last 1/3 and now this season, he has been a revelation IMO.

Pennant is in the team to tackle, work hard, deliver crosses, get past his man, attacking full backs and help out in the attack. You can't just concentrate on the attacking bit because that leaves the right back very isolated and in big trouble.

Pennant is in the team to tackle, work hard, deliver crosses, get past his man, attacking full backs and help out in the attack. You can't just concentrate on the attacking bit because that leaves the right back very isolated and in big trouble.

But he doesn't though.

He tracks back more than any of our other wide players. You can't label him with that just because you don't like him. You're starting to make things up now and it's getting stupid. The guy has played well this season and seeing as he is a Liverpool player I'm going to support him not make things up about him which just aren't true.

So Pennant is ok to play in a CL final and semi final? and against Chelsea at home this season? But he's not good enough to play away to Porto? God help our players if you ever get to Anfield. We could just as easily say, why WAS he in the team against Derby? Answer: To do what he was bought for and supply ammo and a threat down the wing. OBV any player in midfield have to track back too but that's not what tyey're in the team for. It ain't rocket science.

Pennant is good attacking player, not very good but he can do his part in attacks. The problem with Pennant is that he still isn't good enough helping out in defense even that he is getting better but he is still a long way off being good enough in defense.

We need a more complete right sided midfielder than him.

If you look at the right sided players Rafa has tried to sign, Mancini and Alves then you can see what type of player Rafa want on the right. A player that can play good attacking and defensive football and not only an attacking right sided player.

Rafa want every player on the pitch to be able to do a good defensive job and a good attacking job. Even our central defenders attacks a few times in our games.

Sounds good to me.
