Alright, two non-penalties and two genuine penalties then.

The pompey & Porto ones were correct decisions. The only one which was (ridiculously) wrong was Chelsea.

His arm was sticking out as he was turning and leaning, it was not intentional. The one against Pompey should be a penalty but you could feel agreaved by it as we are the only team to concede that type of pen as 99% of the time nothing is done.

The Villa one was the most clear cut of them all. You cant read a player's mind, so the intentional issue is neither here nor there IMO. Every player who handballs can claim it was unintentional.

The only ones who have a case are those who have the ball blasted at them and have no chance of getting out of the way.

Besides, in 99.999% of cases its physically impossible to put a pen past Reina anyway

I would say that on this season's evidence, there is a 75% chance of scoring a pen past Reina.

Yes but the one against Pompey isn't given 99% of the time, that is why we are commenting on it. There is no consistancy from the refs so we can feel angry about it.

There are, but how can you actually detect intent, without being a mind reader? It's a very grey area.

IMO, unless it's blasted at pace, giving the defender no chance of getting out of the way, it should be a penalty.

Agree but my feeling at the time was it wasn't intentional. all but the chav one should be given but I would like to see some consistancy from the refs.

Short of actually CATCHING the ball, or saving it with your hands goalkeeper style, they're basically ALL unintentional, from what i can see.

Fair play to the defence so far this year though. Teams can only score from the penalty spot against us.

Statistically we must be using up all our 'penalties-against'. We surely can't give away many more?! Good to get them out of the way.



Alternatively, maybe we'll actually give away 60 penalties this season.

lets hope thats it for the season, esp as we conceded so few last season.

We never get any but we have conceded four, yes four already this season. These players need to learn to stay on their feet a lot more and not give the opportunity for the referee to give penalties.

Yes, the Chelsea one shouldn't have been given but thats still three penalties this season.

dude we've had 5 pens against us, its ridicules, toulous, pompey, villa, chelski and porto...

pepe has saved 2 out of 5, had been 2 out of 4 before the porto match, so i'm cenfident he'll save the next one

they have all been weak pen decisions exept for porto, even though the villa one was correct it was still weak, and the pompey one was not a peno, and against toulous arbeloa got hit in the face and they got a pen
