Ex-Liverpool defender Glen Hysen on his hands & knees

Former Liverpool defender Glen Hysen has been brought to his knees by Rosenborg.

The Swede, 47, is a pundit on TV3 in Scandinavia and made a bold gamble before the Champions League tie between RBK and Chelsea.

He vowed: "If Rosenborg get one point I will crawl on my knees 12 Swedish miles - that's 120 kilometres."

And after the 1-1 draw, the former centre-half got a call from TV3's boss telling him they were flying him to Oslo so he could start paying his debt in front of the Rosenborg players.

Hysen said: "Me and my big mouth! I didn't see the game as I was commentating in Milan - but I couldn't believe what I heard. Now I must take my punishment."

bit extreme to have him do the 12 miles, maybe just have him do it round the pitch before the game starts

Are there any Norwegian reds here? Could you guys organise a few people to sing "You'll never crawl alone" to him when he is doing this?

He`ll probably crawl from his hotel to Lerkendal.
Should get a good reception if he goes on to the pitch.

Read somewhere that his "punishment" would be reduced to 2 miles if he did it in front of the Rosenberg players

                      Problem?
You counting Molby, Hyypia, Agger and Riise too, or are you a selective racist?

remeber how we 'nicked' him from under the noses of the Mancs - what a deal that was............................................not

Would I have got married during the football season ?
                        Anyway, it was Rochdale reserves.'

What about Bjornebye and Heggem? Not the greatest players in the world but they both gave 100% in matches although were hampered by injuries. Admittedly the other two and Leonhardsen were crap though!

Not sure about that. Hysen was very good alongside Hansen in his first season but was less good in the second, when Hansen was injured and eventually retired. Then Souness replaced him with Mark Wright.

He was never dreadful though, and neither were a lot of Scandinavians we have had (although admittedly the Piechniks, Leonhardsens and Kvarmes of this World were pretty ****e)
