Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'
"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

I think he is vastly under rated tbh.
If he can keep his Villa squad fit, and install some confidence in them, nobody will want to play them. He has had a slow start at Villa, but I am sure they are just going to get better and better.
I think if we wanted a manager who would drive us towards the league title and has Premier League experience, then he would be my pick.
I wouldn't want Maureen

In light of the bombshell at Stamford Bridge should we be actively seeking his successor at the moment - with Rafa's blessing of course? If Rafa walked out on us at the moment we'd be well and truly knackered.
Maybe we could draft somebody in to work alongside Rafa to learn the ropes as such? I don't know.
At the moment we haven't even got a right hand man to take charge should something happen.
Discuss.
I think the answer has to be no. The reasoning for this is that anyone of the calibre likely to be required is unlikely to want to work as an assistant for long and as such would be or would inevitably become an unsettling influence or move away (leaving us with no advantage).
There is a danger that as many/most of our coaching setup are Rafas appointments and quite likely to leave with him. If say he was to leave for any reason mid season we might have a problem as only really Miller could be expected to have LFC loyalties above those to Rafa. However I think this is a relatively minor concern as we are a major club with money and a good squad so we would be able to attract the type of manager who would come with his own loyal/talented staff.
