    Rafa Strikes Back

Rafa Benitez believes Sam Allardyce may have a memory problem if he thinks Liverpool have struggled in the Premier League in recent seasons.

The Newcastle boss reportedly stated the Spanish tactician was only clinging onto his Anfield post due to his impressive UEFA Champions League achievements.

However, Benitez is happy with The Reds' two third-placed finishes in the last two seasons and has told Allardyce to worry about his own business on Tyneside.

"I want to say two things," Benitez told the club's official website.

"Firstly, I think he should be more worried about his own business because he must have more problems than to waste time talking about other managers.

"Secondly, has he forgotten Liverpool winning the Super Cup, FA Cup and Champions League as well as reaching another Champions League final, a Carling Cup final and twice finishing third in the Premier League?

"Maybe he doesn't have a great memory."

He's a disappointed man who has yet to land a big job.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Rafa was fairly soft on Allardyce.

If it was me, i'd have made some reference to the success Newcastle have had and acknowledged how proud Allardyce must be of the greatest pinnacle of his career...the league cup final.

          Hardly strikes back.
          More kind of defends himself.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

          * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

Could have done but probably best that he didn't rise to the bait. Leave it Rafa, he ain't worth it.

tbh I don't want Rafa attacking every single PL manager that says anything about him, Just Slur Alex will do for now as Maureen is gone

Benitez should have said "Allardyce?? Never heard of him." or "Allardyce?? I keeeeeeel him!"

Rafa is a fool to respond now, far too late in the day, unless he replied straight away and the club site is just catching up, which wouldnt surprise me

Big Sam hits back at Rafa

Sam Allardyce has carried on his war of words with Rafa Benitez by telling the Liverpool manager that he can 'dish it out but he can't take it'.

Allardyce recently said that Benitez would be 'lucky' to still be in his job if he had not guided Liverpool to two UEFA Champions League finals, because The Reds had not performed well in the Premier League during his time at Anfield.

Benitez responded by saying that Allardyce must have forgotten a number of Liverpool's other successes, and also told the Newcastle manager to focus on his own team.

Allardyce accepts that Benitez had the right to reply, but feels he should have just let the matter lie.

"I can't remember exactly what the comments were, they were about two weeks ago," Allardyce told Sky Sports News.

"He's had a little bit of a chunter, but that's life. He can dish it out but he can't take it."

It doesn't even make any sense. Anyone would think he's trying to fill the Newcastle pages on SKY/BBC with stories other than Derby 1 Newcastle 0.

What was he doing mouthing off about Rafa in the first place?
