RP Rafa has never beat them in the league.Bit of a bogey team they are in the league. We should take them but it makes it a little bit harder with our top striker on the bench. If the arguement is he did'nt play well midweek then him and 9 others could have been rotated.Maybe Rafa knows what he is doing so we will wait and see.
Oh the man is a midfield maestro

Torres looked in bad shape against Porto, I'm not surprised. He's not resting him for the league cup, that's for sure.

We should be able to beat Brum at home with or without Torres playing.

Voronin and Kuyt are quite similar be interesting to see how they link up.

Cameron Jerome pace will be a problem.

And if you look at the team from that 1-1 draw I'm not even sure the current one is significantly better when you consider we had Reina, Finnan, Hyppia, Agger, Riise, Garcia, Gerrard, Hammann, (a fit) Kewell, Crouch and Morientes.
The names on paper might not be better but the team is.

I'm not convinced Birmingham have some hoodoo over us, regardless of those results. If we don't rest Torres for Brum at home, then just how often are we going to rest him in the league? Ideally he'd play every game, but you have to draw a line somewhere, and Brum falls under it for me. It does make us less likely to win today by not playing Torres, of course, but to keep conditioning high and enable players to train better they have to miss some games, you pick the ones you are most likely to win without them.

If we fail to win today, people will say Torres should've played, but it's about playing the percentages - the slight drop in points we get playing without him on numerous occasions now will be worth it if he then shows good form and fitness toward the end of the season when all the games are vital.

Must be the most hard-working strike partnership in the world.

I got done to bits for criticising his rotation policy last season and he's doing it again, we spent 20 odd million on a striker to help win the league - how the **** can he do that sitting on the ****ing bench - Benitez you wreck my ****ing head.
