The atmosphere was poor yesterday, one of the quietest games i can remember being at. I thought the Birmingham fans were pretty loud, we met a few in town before the game and they seemed alright.

If the atmosphere is **** for some of the smaller games, why not introduce special days to get the fans up even if the opposition is nothing to get excited about.

There isn't a problem during the big league games or on the European nights but it can go a bit flat in the league. I don't think its a prawn sandwich thing but its something that should be addressed. Like somebody said previously, the fans can scare the **** out of the opposition.

Out of towners make more noise.FACT

One problem seems to be that we have two different sets of fans starting different songs.

In the standing Kop the songs began in the middle and spread outwards.

Now we have the bunch who are in the middle and the other set to the left hand side of the Kop.

It would be better if these were all together.

You should also remember that when the team does play poorly it is harder to get the fans going. You can't be dismissive of that either.

Roll your eyes all you want mate but the fact of the matter is locals get to see more or less every game so they take it for granted (not all of them obviously) where as oot ers pay through the nose to get to games and are more up for it. Its common sense really. I'm not saying this to offend scousers and i am not saying scousers are less passionate(obviously) its just when its a one off you tend to make the most of it wouldn't you agree.

Sitting down has **** all to do with it. You are perfectly capable to sing along as loud as while sitting down. Everyone does it in the car so why is it different at the ground?

I think there's always going to be a difference of oppinion about singing tho, some are happy to sing no matter whats happening in the match, wether we're winning or getting beat. And some will only sing if they feel there's football being played on the pitch worth singing about, i'm not suggesting either is wrong or right, but I doubt it's going to change even with a singing block.

I wasn't at the Derby match but I imagine the singing was very good once the goals started flowing in, but maybe not too good before that first goal. It's a two way street as far some are concerened, not that i thinik there's anything wrong with that. I'll always sing when i'm at the match, so it's not an issue for me.

Disagree, I find it easier to sing when standing up, not that I'm condoning standing, you can't do and that's that but it is easier to shout and sing at the top of your lungs when standing up FACT

The atmosphere is always ****e for ****ty little teams, always feckin has been, **** all to do with OOT, scousers or the sandwich brigade, it was a **** game, everyone was pissed off when they saw the team sheet and we simply never got started. As usual when we werent 4-0 up at half time people start turning on the players, Riise and Kuyt seemed to be the whippin boys, at least they are leaving Pennant alone now. Garcia leaving must have really pissed the morons off, noone left to moan at every single game...

What I'm pissed off about is that I went to a crappy UEFA cup game at White Heart Lane on Thursday sitting with the away fans and yesterday went to Anfield where I normally return from hoarse after signing non-stop and what song do I have in my head? Campione? No. Best midfield in the world? No. Fields of Anfield Road? No. I've got this stupid "We're Tottenham, Super Tottenham" **** in my head, because I heard that about 50 times on Thursday and yesterday heard none of the Liverpool songs mentioned above.

as the expectation of no19 is higher the noise at 0-0 will be low.

the barcodes who have a noisy fan base when thier loosing were quiet when they had a chance of the PL.

I have a question - if we'd scored and were winning at a canter v Birmingham, would the singing have been incessant or would we have had a round of "Liverpool, Liverpool" after each goal and then relative silence again? Because on Thursday Spurs fans were singing incessantly, and they were just playing a Cypriot team in the Uefa Cup.

Not necessarily, no. I was sitting next to two southern chaps yesterday who were constantly remarking how quick Markus Babbel was on the left, whilst one of them had to repeatedly check the programme for the names of the players on the pitch. The songs that were sung yesterday were unknown to them, and I doubt they had any idea about the ones that weren't.

It's easy to generalise and come up with some 'logical' explanation here, but the simple fact is that it is quiet in Anfield when we play **** and/or are playing **** teams. I'm not saying that is right, but I also don't think Anfield would be any louder if you crammed it full of OOTers.

maybe Spur fans are the best in the world.

Singing would of been better but most home match's these days are quiet - as said I think the expectations are higher and the singing is qiueter.

I know i sometimes am concentrating a lot and forget to sing.

Even euro nights are getting quieter.

in fact i'm not getting nagged as much these days
