I think it would be great to see Babel play up front - alonside Torres v Reading would be a chance to try it perhaps?

BTW I share the general frustration about Kuyt.

We must be the only top club that use a striker as a hard working attacking midfielder.

Rafa is focusing to much on the defensive bit. You win matches by scoring goals and avoid defeats by holding a clean sheet.

You don't get anymore points if you draw three games than if you win one and lose two.

We have the players to play good attacking football but instead it seems like Rafa's first priority is not to lose the game instead of winning it.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

If, as you say, Rafa plays a front man with somone in the hole, I just don't think Kuyt is anywhere near talented enough for that position.

To play in the hole you have to have - to play for LFC at least - good technique, awareness of others and good passing ability to take advantage of those attributes. Kuyt does none of those things well IMO.

It's not his natural position, throw in his second rate technical ability and it's not a good combination.

Bottom line; I want somebody better wearing the Liverbird.
If Rafa wants to play with 1 striker up top, and one in the hole, then it should be Benayoun and we should have kept Garcia as well for that role.
Kuyt offers nothing, absolutely nothing, except work rate, and as ive said many times, that should be the minimum requirement for a Liverpool player, to play at the highest level you need to offer something else and Kuyt simply doesnt.

I agree - but we wont see that against Reading, if at all

I can understand that being the case in tough away games with Alonso/Gerrard midfield as we tend to be a bit soft though the middle. There is no excuse for playing Kuyt as a deep attacking midfielder when Masch is playing.

I find it hard enough to keep my cool when he's playing **** for Ireland, couldn't cope with that week in week out

Keane or Kuyt? It's a no-brainer for me mate.

Keane is a far superior player to Kuyt - scores more goals - better footballing brain - and works equally as hard for his team (well almost).

WOW I can't believe this thread - Wasn't long ago people were getting banned for saying in so many words "kuyt is ****e' and now you're all at it. Confirms to me what football websites are all about it really does. Oh and he is not for Liverpool - his 1st touch is so bad it's shocking, he runs around like a blue arsed fly getting nowhere and he DOESN"T score goals.

I know what you're trying to do!!

To be fair mate - only Arbeloa and possibly Pennant had decent games.
