Some people live in a Football Manager/ Champ Manager world

Some **** had a pop at me on the post match Birmingham thread for making a funny comment on it so I'm going to try and be more creative this time !

I'm what people love to hate I admit I'm a lurker I love to read all these threads and posts but I feel that some people really don't live in this world. After reading comment on this site over the last few days I felt compelled to write this.

I sometimes wonder what peoples opinions and feelings might be if the above games were never invented. I myself am addicted to these games in my spare time ( the spare time that I have which isn't much)

When you are in front of the TV watching football or you are in front of the Computer monitor playing a football manager game you subconciously forget that the two are different to one another.

There are times when I watch Liverpool on tv and think to myself fu*king hell we are making a meal of this we should be winning 3 or 4 nill then but then that is because I've beaten the opposing team 6-0 on CM or FM with my all star team that I built with a cheat.

I never get the same feeling if I've been to see them live though, it might be because I can appreciate the effort more that players have put into a game when I see them do it for real. When you play computer games or watch it on TV the people on the screen are digital recreations your judgement gets cloudy when differentiating between the two.

I'm not saying that If these management games weren't around then we wouldn't have opinions or show any passion but I do feel that people wouldn't be so fast to pass judgement after one mediocre result.

Doesn't what I've said make sense or am I just a nut case ! Please say

I get what your saying, it does make sense, you always get differing views depending on if someone's been the match or watched it in the house or the pub. I've never played champ or FM and have no desire to, I don't really get the interest and like you I think it helps give polarised views that can sometimes be far from reality.

    Welcome btw

      Nut case
No really, I do think opinions would be similar if the FM games were not around, I personally don't play them, nor do I feel I have to, to understand football better.
Bill shankly to Tommy Smith after he'd turned up for training with a bandaged knee:
'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

      * After Tommy Lawrence had let in a fluke goal between his legs

so you're struggling to tell the difference between fantasy and reality...obviously you are completely normal and have nothing to worry about.

Jeez I sound like a right psycho now after posting this !

I suppose I'm just trying to reiterate that people would be less inclined to jump to conclusions so quickly just because their teams on FM or CM are top of the league and have all star line up which include Henry, Eto'o and Messi etc etc in their LFC side.

You are spot on mate, half the dickheads on here form thier opinions on players on their stats on FM.

You're totally right mate. a perfect example today when someone had a pop at me for saying that Insua could probably do a job on the right. He went a little crazy at that and I'm SURE he's hardly ever seen Insua outside FM manager.
