How much does a season ticket cost? Does it vary according to which stand? Arsenals 3. whatever million per home game is truly stunning and Im wondering what sort of return LFC can expect with the new stadium. I imagine Arsenal charge like wounded bulls for their tickets? Anyway its a massive advantage and opens up a wealth gap that would appear to be hard to bridge given our stadium is 3 years away. No doubt the increased capacity will bring in even more $$ but that even more years away. Our only way to increase profits significantly in the short term is to win things

Winning things is no guarantee of increasing revenue, i'm not sure what chelseas profits are compared to pre-mourinho but i'd wager there isn't much difference (excluding all the money abramovich has pissed away in tranfers etc). In our case if we win the prem it would certainly get us more exposure but, the only hard and fast way of improving profits is to wait for our stadium. We should be aiming at the Arsenal type profits, but we won't acheive them at 60k because they'll be charging London prices, we'll have to wait till our increase to 78k to get on a par with them i feel.

The American owners are shrewd business men. I'm not doubting that potential earnings from winning will feature within any business model but they'll be looking at more secure revenue streams like improving marketing and sponsorship to build a solid base. Especially with the financing of a new stadium hanging over their heads.

Making a business plan based on winnings revenue is a risk. Look what happened to Leeds when they built a business plan which required them to make the latter stages of the champions league year after year.

They will also have a higher wage bill for non playing staff which needs to be taken into account.

but I do agree with you, I was stunned at Arsenals figures today, well done to them and to do it in a year! amazing. Once our stadium is up we should see a sizeable increase in turnover per game, but I do agree with you about london prices. Arsenal tickets are shockingly expensive and clearly aimed for the more richer/corporate type fans.

Yep and yet they sell out every week and there is a mad scramble for tickets and it's still as hard to get any as it was a Highbury. Obviously Arsenal attract your more well-to-do scumbag

There's no doubt they attract a better class of fan than the likes of chelsea, mancs, but there must be a huge corporate element to their ticket sales, I don't think our fans would put up with it

As a veteran of some 40 years standing and sitting on the Kop (in my dotage I now sit in the paddock) It has always been like this, it is very difficult to get excited about the likes of Brum at home, and its made worse if the team arnt firing on all cylinders TBH I was bored ****less on Saturday the team never got going in my opinion.

Now the scum at home I am like a raging bull and the stewards have to tell me to calm down and "play nicely"

Yep, no worries, multiple revenue streams are required and I was speaking more about the interim that exists before the stadium move. Winning alone wont guarantee $$$ but winning does attract sponsors and increases merchandising. Arsenal are opening up a huge profit gap, they reckon AW has 70 million pounds to spend on players if he wants.

Im wondering what LFC can do to try and minimise the gap until the move to the new stadium is complete? Obviously there is plenty of upside in marketing the team on a global basis and perhaps the new guy who's been employed to do this will kick a few goals quickly.

I think I'm right in saying season ticket costs went up this year. I can see that happening year-on-year until the stadium is built and I think we can expect to see tiered ticketing with current season ticket costs (including the year on year increases) being the cheapest end, with all sorts of packages, 1 year ST's, various corporate packages etc being far more expensive. I also reckon the PTS situation might change radically going forward as well as ticket prices as a whole being more expensive than they currently are. There may be more concessions etc going forward and some cheaper ticketing options, however, on the whole, things are likely to become more expensive. The businessmen have a captive market where demand outstrips supply (even when we're not winning the league etc) so if the performances on the pitch continue as they are or improve, they'll be singing all the way to the bank.

In my humble opinion of course.
