One "**** me he's good" winger/in the hole player + Stevie G + Torres would make an awesome attack if they are all played together week in week out.
Alonso and Kuyt are more than capable complement to the above three.

The Brum match was a horrible flashback to so many games last year. We dominated the match but created very little. The 2 main problems on Saturday were the old chestnuts of a lack of quality on the left and a lack of pace upfront.
Babel doesn't look a left midfield player to me. I know he often played upfront in holland and he looks better suited to that role. Plus as a right footer he's always cutting in from the left. Against teams who play 4-5-1 you need width to stretch the defence. Pennant did that on the right but Babel didn't on the left at all.
Up front without Torres we look very predictable. We lacked any sort of pace and this must be addressed soon. The main culprit is Kuyt. He tries his heart out but offers little in the way of a goal threat. At £10m he looks very expensive to me. Voronin, as a 4th striker is ok but needs to play with someone who has pace.
I'd sell Kuyt and buy either a top notch left winger (& use Babel upfront) or buy someone like Anelka so that we have 2 strikers with real pace.AKA Heighway No9

We have another quick striker, his name is Ryan Babel.Originally posted by shanklyn View PostAfter watching the past few games, it seems to me glaringly obvious that we need another quick striker. If Torres is not playing then we seem to pose very little threat up front and we are very one dimensional.
Dont get me wrong I like Crouchy on the whole, but I feel of all the forwards that he is the only one that will go in the near future. He would fetch a decent price in todays market and the longer he seems to be overlooked the less he will be worth.
I was gutted when Anelka left. I know hes a bit of knobhead (although this is largely over the top reaction IMO) but I would love to see him back here as he offers something different to Crouch, Veronin and Kuyt. I cant off the top of my head think of many others apart from him that would be available. so any comments or am I just knee jerking.
Im not sure if this is a bit of an obvious thread so be gentle.
