I still have faith in Rafa, but he has some strange logic latelyOriginally posted by CAD View Post"full-strength squad for the Carling Cup tie at Reading."
I have no faith in Rafa and havn't had any since Athens. This is why we fielded a crap team against Pompey? For this?
*awaits to be called a member of IKBTR brigade* :whatever:Torres Fan Club Member #2, Lucas Leiva Fan Club Member #1

That's a poor headline.Dogged Rafa calls Torres back to front
.
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

If you take anything that maddock writes about Us seriously than good luck lads. Isn`t he manc loving, Liverpool hating piece of ....?
Wasn`t he the only person who 2 days before Fernando joined Us was claiming that mancs will get him? I`m not surprised at all that he took this opportunity to have a go at Rafa.

There are potentially 60 matches a season. Its not guaranteed, Early exits from all cup competitions would see us play what 46 or 47 matches? I wouldnt play Torres tonight but Torres must start every league game."I watched the Champions League quarter-finals and the way they crushed Arsenal. Only the greatest and the best can play such a match.

Maybe he is doing what he says and wanting to try and win all 4 competitions. I am not saying we will win all 4 but he does say in the articles posted he wants to compete on all 4 fronts. As someone has said it would be a good time to try the Torres and Crouch partnership.
For anyone (AFII) complaining about the risk of Torre getting injured, he runs this risk in every game so should we never play him, he may not even play tonight so not too much to worry about.

So do you think we should get rid of him then?
Play the best team against Pompey and get the points which were so obviously there for the taking in the first half. Don't rest the players for a match against Porto in the first stage of the group play. Any fool can see that we will get 9 points at home (at least 7) and probably 4 or 6 away. We didn't need a result against Porto.
Switch to a 3-5-2 against Brum when you can see they offer nothing forward and are only there to defend. Get the extra man in midfield that we clearly needed. Lucas would have done nicely in there with Mascher and Gerrard.
Show some of the alleged tactical skill and what the **** is going on with the substitutions? Are you dense or just completely incapable of changing your gameplan when it's not working? Athens anybody? Second half substitutions - too little too late! The last time we saw some action from the bench was in Istanbul, where the tactical blunders were so obvious after the first half that you had to be ****ing retarded not to act at halftime.
I fart in the general direction of Rafas tactical faculties. Sorry but I do.
Should we let him go? It really depends on who we could get instead. All I can say is that I'm not gobsmacked by Rafa. If Gus was knocking on the door I would definitely open it and sit down and listen to what he had to say.
I just don't believe Rotation Rafa has what it takes to win us no. 19.
We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold.

I think you got it around 100% wrong. He is the Godfather to one of Robbie's kids.Originally posted by Brzeczyszczykiewicz View PostIf you take anything that maddock writes about Us seriously than good luck lads. Isn`t he manc loving, Liverpool hating piece of ....?

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

I think a lot of people feel that way. However, I think we should wait a few more matches before making such judgements as we are a little premature in condemming rafa's decisions. Still unbeaten and still up there is hardly a crisis if not the ideal that we all expected. I will however say that if the current trend of losing PL points without a fight continues that I will be firmly aboard your ship baying for answers.Originally posted by CAD View PostI wrote this elsewhere:

I'm sorry but I wholeheartedly disagree, I was pretty peeved off when I saw that Gerrard and Torres didn't play against Pompey but after seeing them play against Porto I thought Rafa might have done the right thing as they look tired and didn't play that well (specially Gerrard).Originally posted by CAD View PostI wrote this elsewhere:

The Birmingham game I was also peeved off but as we saw against Porto, starting Torres does not mean we will win. I still feel that we should have started Torres against Birmingham but I refuse to jump on Rafa's back after three draws - two of them against good team away from home!
We can't win every game - that's just not going to happen. The only game I'm unhappy about is the Birmingham one butI don't see why that's such an issue. Rafa has got us this far and he will get us further but he has only been in charge for three season
* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.
