So which of the young guns are going to get a crack tonight. By the sounds of it only Hobbs will be on but are we going to see Lucas, Leto, Insua?

I think we should play a fairly strong team to avoid getting knocked out and another year of less games for the junior players. We might even get some real fodder in the next round should we make it through.

I'd like to see all of the above get a game and maybe Putrill in and around the squad.

Yeah fielding a farily strong team is the best idea to ensure progression and thus allowing our younger players to get games. But what I would really like to see is our British youngsters getting loaned out, I know some have been loaned, I mean there is definitely teams in the Championship that would benefit from having the likes of Spearing, Putteril, Lindfield and Threlfall in their ranks. I can understand not loaning the foreign ones out as they need time to settle.

Don't think he's good enough or Sammy Lee in his current predicament hasn't got the balls to blood a youngster and is therefore sticking with experience. He could have played for any championship club Gutherie or rotted in our reserves.

Should cancel the loan with Bolton if this remains the case and send him elsewhere. I like the recent links with Southampton, we should exercise this further.

Heighway said Spearing was good enough for our first team last year.
That was a major compliment but it's a big step up.Any time I have seen him he has impressed me.He is a tasty passer and is versatile.
He is tiny but that means nothing if you've got ability.
I agree these kids should be loaned out though.

I was surprised when Sammy Lee took him to Bolton as I didn't see how he'd manage to get many games for them. Surely a spell playing regularly for a Championship side would be of more benefit to him.

Would expect all to start with the exception of Insua, purely because Aurelio needs a game.

He was and apparently did very well according to reports from Southampton fans. I remember hearing something about Southampton wanting to extend the loan, which definitely seems would have been a better option for the lad

Well Heighway is always going to big up his youth players as he obviously had a lot of pride in them but the above comparisons have proved to be ridiculous.

Could Heighway's pronouncements have been attempts to put a sheen on the poor output of the academy in recent years?
