I'm as frustrated as anyone that Torres is not starting, but this quote from the article is just horse****:

Rotation has been a constant back-drop to Benitez's Anfield reign - but trophies have provided the perfect shield to criticism.

I don't mind rotation, as long as our best players e.g Carra, Gerrard, Torres play as often as possible.

I've been saying that for quite a long time - we need to have a spine at every game = Reina-Carra-Gerrard-Torres. End of.

I think it's a good article, the only worry I have with Torres is that he has hardly ever played 40 games in a season. He's still young, and a 50% increase in games played together with the added physicality of the English League could take it's toll when it matters most.

I wanted Torres to play against Portsmouth and Birmingham, but the game against Porto showed how much the internationals had taken out of him and you would think that Pennant, Babel, Gerrard, Kuyt and Voronin would have enough at home to beat Birmingham. So while I wanted him to play, I can understand Rafa's decisions.

                      that is a quality spine.
As has been mentioned before, Rotation was fine when we were winning, but soon as we draw/lose it's not.

Please please stop saying "end of" does this mean the mods have to close the thread because someone has had the last word.

It's not bang on the button. It's redundant to slap a manager on the back for winning, say, the Champions League, and then criticize him for the manner in which he did it. In that year it was clear that we saved our best players for that competition.

This year we should, quite rightly, prioritize the Premiership, and always play our best players in the league when available, while rotating out others. As I said before, I don't have a problem with rotation, as long as we are not looking at Torres and company sitting on the bench while he's fit.
