Torres played against Derby, who played exactly the same tactics as Brum. In fact if torres doesn't play in games were the oposition play 4-5-1, he's going to spend alot of games on the bench. Also this implies torres is a one trick pony ie he needs to be able to use his pace or its not worth playing him.

I wouldn't swap Rafa for any manager but in not playing torres as often as possible in the league, I feel he's not giving us the best possible chance of winning the league.

Torres is better at the things that Kuyt and Voronin has as their strenghts.

He is stronger than them, he can work at least as hard as Kuyt, he is more skillful than Voronin. He is a better finisher in a tight situation than both of them. He is better in the air than them.

You can't rest our best striker by a mile for games we MAY play in a few months time. We need him to play every league game if he is fit if we want to have a chance to win the league. He gives us a mental advantage even before the game has started when the other teams sees him in the starting XI.

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Rafa is the best manager in the world but he will make mistakes. We can only hope that he won't make the same mistake again and get over it and concentrate on the next game.

              In Your Opinion

Rafa`s is obviously different as he believes that they all bring different qualities to the table.

              I side with Rafa

                Absolutely not. Look again:

                MY REPLY:
With or without space - Torres is the best striker we have period. He didn't need much space when he scissorkicked the ball just over the bar against Brum, did he? How strange that he looked more like a goalthreat than any other player we fielded the entire game, when he finally came on.

I plea guilty to Rafa-bashing after the Pompey game but this is reversed kneejerk if I ever saw it.

PS: You forgot the RCDNW in your signature.
I don't deal in cliches or personalities so to attribute me a RCDNW is mystifying. Rafa's judgement took into account a number of factors and I happen to agree with him, the execution however was flawed as I posted.

One incident is not a justification for declaring his decision wrong, however you are obviously a second guesser, or a spotty youth overdosed on computer-based football management games.

Torres looked like a goal threat but didn't score, and I believe he wouldn't have scored as the Brum team bus was in the way of the goal - to misquote another ****.

Knee jerk - WTF I suggest the knee jerk comes woith the reaction to the Pompey game - difficult to beat at Fratton park as the season will demonstrate,
BRum played well and we played not so well, that happens.

Go and jerk off until you can be a bit more considered in your views.

That does seem to be a big part of the problem.

Can someone just delete this ballbags posts from the thread please

The fella is not contributing anything at all to what the thread is about and is obviously just trying to cause aggro.

I get in the **** when I lose my rag so I dont see why this gob****e should be allowed to come following me around on the wind up.

                            Cheers

We have IMO the finest manager in world football right now, certainly one of the top 3 anyway. The way he has transformed us into being one of the most feared/respected clubs in world football again in such a short space of time is remarkable.

The reason he has done this is down to many reasons, his tactical knowledge is second to none. There hasnt been a manager born yet that gets EVERY decision right, but I have never seen a manager get his tactics right as often as Rafa does. Also, he is mentally strong, he picks HIS team, not what player power or fan power dictates. He sticks with rotation, even though a million internet managers tell him its wrong, because HE BELIEVES ITS THE BEST WAY TO GET RESULTS OVER THE COURSE OF A SEASON. And judging by the fact we are generally the best team each season from november onwards this would seem to be correct. Now that we have finally had a good start to a season, god only knows how good we will be when we really kick into form in a month or so.
