Roma's Mancini won't rule out Liverpool move
    tribalfooball.com - September 26, 2007

Roma star winger Amantino Mancini cannot rule out leaving the Italian club.

The Brazilian has confirmed contact with Liverpool over the summer and revealed to Controcampo: "Liverpool, Inter Milan and Lyon were all teams interested in me during the summer, but rather with me, they have spoken with my agent.

"I still have two years on my contract at Roma and I hope to extend it. But in life, anything can happen."
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

In two years he will be 30 or something, a bit too old. I'll take WACKEEN over him right now.

I was thinking about whackeen meself the other day.
Wondering if Rafa could get him to take his head out of his arse and realise his potential - in a red shirt of course.

He has improved playing for Valenthia and it helps when he's injury free as well.
To be honest I still dont think Pennant is the right player on the wing, hes a bit inconsistnet inspite of his improvement this season.
Makes sense to spend big on a RW next summer.

aye, was thinking this myself the other day. JP has proven himselfa good "skwod" player, but we need more.
                3rd place. Worst champions ever.

if we wanted him why not buy him in the summer? why wait until January where he'll be cup tied in europe, take time to settle in and will disrupt everything. Oh wait disruption is Rafa's middle name. Buy someone, build him up, support him whilst the nation laughs at his inability to find the net in months and then when he reaches new levels and exceeds most peoples expectations he's left out to dry happy with only flirting appearances in the first team.

                  Sorry moan over, **** day.

Mancini just scored a peach of a goal v Fiorentina. Chipped the keeper from just outstide the box. Pure class.

We made a BIG ricket not signing a true quality winger this summer. The 3 games prior to last night showed that.Take away Torres's movement and pace to create something out of nothing and we're back in the same boat. A winger is a must in Jan imho.

I like the look of Leto - gets stuck in and is a true left sided player rather than Babel. I be tempted to give him a run and let Babel play RM and switch if Leto comes off.

I suspect that some won't like this but I actually think the big failing in the summer was in signing a left sided fullback who can cross from deep. I know we have Aurelio but realistically he isn't going to play that many games.

I like Riise and have defended him but his crossing from fullback is not all that dangerous. I like Arbeloa at left back as he is a neat footballer and links defence and midfield but again he doesn't cross well enough for me.

On the right Finnan provides a valuable option and means that we can afford to release the right winger inside or to play him higher up the pitch in attack. This means that we can have the option of a genuine wide player like Pennant or someone who cuts in (say Babel) and the team retains its balance. The trouble has been that our supply line for crosses has all been one sided this season and that makes the oppositions job easier.

I think this is one of the big reasons Rafa was after Heinze who does put in a decent ball (although I would really have rathered a proper attacking fullback who might overlap his winger) from deep positions. This would balance our side much better.

At the minute I would be tempted to play either Riise or Leto on the left for a few games to aid our balance. Babel could then compete for Kuyt and Pennants positions in the starting team.

I actually think Aurelio is a decent crosser but I agree for the most part. Fullbacks are getting more important and they can offer a team so much going forward. Finnan probably provides more crosses at the moment than anyone else and he is rather slow, if we had someone like Alves on both sides we would be laughing IMO and could play Benni and Babel on the wings and give the license to cut in - at least mix it up.

Riise does overlap well though which is probably why we look more balance when he plays IMO.
                            * The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

I actually meant Arbeloa in that sentence - I will edit it.
