    Lucas Leiva

How did he do last night? I missed the match as I was working late and haven't read much on his performance as everyone has been doing a sex wee over Torres. What did he show? Is he likely to play in the league any time soon?

Yeah, I hate it when I do that. Can a mod change it please?

        Done.

Very neat and tidy in the first half, showed some good passing and not just restricted to sideways/nearest man stuff. A bit anonymous second half I thought.

Opinion seems to be divided on his performance.

I thought he was completely anonymous in the second half. He did OK in the first half, certainly nowt to write home about.

he was merely ok, looked a bit overawed and momo literally bossed him....given a few games in the first team I bet he performs far better, needs to get more authority and that only comes from feeling a valued part of the first team.

Id like to see him more, looks comfortable on the ball but somewhat quiet. Momo just bossed him and Lucas just let him take over.

More games and he'll show his real class.

He was good. Just needs to adjust to the tempo of the EPL. Think given 6 mos, he'll be up to the level he was @ in Brazil.

I hope so, because I think if he is not played enough he will be off, and who could blame him, same can be said of Leto. Both were playing regular first team football to a high standard before they came, they have already played in big games in South America. The League Cup wont do that much for their appetite for first team football IMO.

'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

I have a feeling that Rafa will use him in Kuyts position to do the same work Kaka do for Milan.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Levia is a very different to Kaka though, personally, I can't see Levia ever playing in the hole regularly, he is not that type of player, he has a long way to go before he does a Stevie G and adapts into a world class attacking midfielder.

If you look at our team then the hole behind the striker is one of our "problem" positions. We don't have a skillful enough player to play there. The central midfield positions are already taken by Mascherano, Gerrard, Alonso and Sissoko.

Playing in the hole is the only place that he can get some games and he will be better than the players we have playing there now IMO.

He scored a lot of goals being a midfielder in Brazil so he can do a job in that position.

Any player can do a job though, and personally, I dont see what playing him as a second striker is going to achieve, he is not good enough or familiar enough in that roe for a start, and it would cause unrest amongst the squad if he was to be played there, imagine dropping, Crouch, voronin or Kuyt to play him there instead. they would start going mad.
Just my opinion, but I cant see Levia playing there even once this season.
