Watched him in the ressies v Boro and he was the Man of the Match. Really stood out on the pitch as an attacking winger. He's only a kid mind and it;ll take him a bit of time to step up to the senior team. I have high hopes for him.

For those who have watched him in the ressies...Does he have any pace? I have also not seen him much, but on tue he didnt seem to be the quickest?
Just look at the face: it's vacant, with a hint of sadness. Like a drunk who's lost a bet.

How can people say he's been ****???

iv'e been impressed each time he has played, and in the reserves he is head and shoulders above anyone else. He is composed on the ball, and willing to take a player on, he can tackle, and has an eye for a good pass. He also has a few tricks up his sleeve....see the reserves game where he did a lovely little Zidane style pirouette to get out of trouble. It was class

He has good control, and can actually beat his man by dribbling past him...unlike Pennant.

Give him a break FFS. He haas only just come over.

He is the next coming of Santi Solari

BTW it was River Plate that were trying to sign him

he's Zidane quick IMO.....ie- it doesnt look like he's moving , but he is actually reasonably quick. The height and loping style of running is what does it.

He has the control to dribble around his opponent though, so he doesnt need the out and out pace.

I managed to scout Leto a couple of times through the streams you get on myp2p. My initials thoughts were:

He beats players by a combination of close control and strength. He doesnt excel at either but the combination works well for him.

He goes to the byline and can also cut inside. He likes too shoot from distance and can also play the clever through ball from deeper (like he did in the reading game).

In one game he swapped over the to right side.

Finally, his crossing is a bit hit and miss.

He has a little way to go to be more accurate with his passing, crossing and shooting. But he does have all the other qualities Rafa insists on hard working, game intelligence, ...

              Hope that helps.

Funny you should say that. I was gonna say that he is Agger-fast i.e. you don't really know how fast he is but it's never an issue, he gets the job done regardless.

He played the other day and assisted and Pennant has not done that this year so he cant be that bad.He is not as slow as people make out.His fitness does not seem great but maybe that is due to new training methods.
Oh the man is a midfield maestro

He looks okay. Not amazing but time will tell. He certainly appears more impressive than Gonzalez did.

He didn't seem that slow to me, just a bit clumsy, and with a pretty dire first touch, although he can work on that.

As for people who have watched Argentine football Nic, Glock's probably the man to ask. He won't have seen him of course but he'll do a determined job of pretending that he has

I thought he did really well against Reading and I'd prefer him to Babel on the left for the time being.

I thought he has played well both games for us. against Toulouse he had a great opening half. Then against Reading he played well again. Didn't get into the game as much as i hoped he would but did some nice things.
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gonzalez, yes I have to admit I was startled at how he failed to adapt in the prem. He looked fantastic in the Primera Liga and I for one thought he had the tenacity to succeed in the prem. Ah well.....

Do you think? I thought he was a non entity against Toulouse when i was expecting a good game after seeing him in pre season.
