No Kids on the Kop !

Right lads/lasses I want a bit of help or advice here please.

A lady I work with went down to Anfield on Wednesday morning at 04:10 to queue up for tickets for the Marseille game in the CL. She had 6 fan cards and wanted 3 Adult & 3 Kids tickets.
After queuing up for over four and a half hours she eventually goto to the window only to be told that there were no kids allowed in The Kop - it is for season ticket holders only. She eventually took 6 tickets for the Anfield Road end - but they're not what she really wanted.

Can anybody shed any light on why there's a ban on kids in The Kop for the Champs Lge and also - when did this disgraceful practice come into force.

    Thanks in advance.

They dont sell kids tickets on the Kop for any games. They arent banned from going in but you'd be paying full whack for them. Also, they wouldnt be able to see **** all on a European game so its better for the kids to not go in there.

please don't try and tell me that it's for the kids benefit. You know and I know that that is bollox. It's about money. Pure and simple.

She wanted tickets for her kids which wasn't a problem last season as she bought them for all of the champions league games last year. This has only just come into force this season and she was specifically told that kids were not allowed on the kop. That can't be misconstrued in any way.

Kids are allowed on the kop, I sit beside one that is a season ticket holder. Kids tickets are no longer sold for the KOP, it is that simple. A few things changed this year for the creation of the 1892 section, it's not all about money as she could get kids tickets for elsewhere in the ground.

The lady was told that kids are not allowed. How can I write that down so that people understand?
It's obviously different for the league games as you sit next to a child week in week out but the distinction between league and CL games is most definitely there.

That in itself is tripe, as i'm not a STH but i got a kop ticket. Unless it's different when buying in person at the windows, but i dont see why it would be.

Unless of course, they mean it's for STH kids only. As in, only kids who have ST can get into the kop. If their ST IS for the Kop, then that seems rather obvious anyway. Strange scenario all in all.

They used to be allowed on the kop. I've taken both of mine on adult/child tickets. Thing is though they don't get a good view at all. My eldest lad likes it now he's big enough to see but my youngest lad refuses it cos he can't see anything. He's too small to see over the fella in front and if he stands on his seat he blocks the view of the fella behind. He's better off in the Upper Kem where folk tend to remain seated.

Kids tickets are not sold for the Kop. If someone wants to take a kid in there then they pay full price. Its not hard to understand that. If kids were banned full stop then why have none of them been chucked out?

The kids tickets for the Kop were normally right at the back of the stand anyway. So it makes sense to move them from there to a part of the ground with a better view and one were they are all together and not subjected to hearing fat blokes call people ***** every 2 seconds. As much as you might not be arsed some people are.

Upper Kemm? A woman after me own heart.

I agree with all of that.
Something has changed - maybe the number of complaints from disgruntled parents whose child has missed the game through the person in front standing up.

Personally I think kids under 14 should be banned from the Kop and pubs but then I'd also say that about women and blokes over 60 to be honest!
