He looks like a proper no.10 (plays in the hole) he will form a good partnership with that german lad who looks like a poacher! Now with Messi on the wing we are sorted

Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

The academy and the reserve coverage are the best things about Liverpool TV.
I thought the german guy Marvin Pouvrie (?) looked the business. 4 goals in the two games they highlighted - looked a different league to the opposition.

I remember checking the matchday programme for reserve and youth info and seeing Owen, McManaman and Paul Jewell firing in goals - we've not had anyone scoring for fun at any level for years except Mellor and somehow you could tell he wasn't top drawer

Yes they brought him over on some sort of amateur contract which sort of got around the regulations that were in place at the time regarding young players. The other teams in La Liga were non to happy about it supposedly.
                        Liverpool born and bred.

pity he was such a pie shop, as he certainly had a natural instinct for finding the back of the net, and was one of the few youth players that wasnt phased by playing for the first team.

'Take that poof bandage off, and what do you mean YOUR knee, it's LIVERPOOL'S knee !'

"Sorry, boss, I should have kept my legs together," said Lawrence. "No, Tommy, your mother should have kept her legs together!," replied Shankly.

Liverpool have poached 16-year-old Gerardo Bruna from Real Madrid as manager Rafa Benitez continues his worldwide search for the stars of the future.

The Argentine-born midfielder, who has played for Madrid’s junior side and is considered one of the hottest properties around, has penned a three-year contract with Liverpool.

Madrid are thought to have dithered in securing the player on a long-term deal so Benitez pounced with the promise of providing Bruna the chance to train with the first team and to play regularly for the reserves.

“That was an offer I just couldn’t refuse,” the player admitted to Spanish daily sports paper AS.

Significantly, Murca is half Spanish and therefore has an EU passport, meaning he does not require a work permit to play in The Premier League.

The youngster comes to England with a hefty reputation as his game is said to be of a similar ilk to that of fellow countryman Lionel Messi.

That means that he is just one step away from being involved in the league.
