Best Midfield in the world? yeah right, only problem is they're all central. You have to count the left wing & right midfield surely? Its 4, 4, 2 not 4 2 2 2.

Torres is brilliant. Kuyt is far from that level. The Crow is hit & miss. Crouch reached a level and seems to have had the rug pulled from under his feet from the very man that he gained his confidence from in the first place. Its liked finding your best mate shagging your missus, Crouch must feel betrayed by Rafa. Someone like Crouch needs to feel people want him, an arm round the shoulder type, this is the same people least we forget that scored a blinding hat trick past Arsenal this same calender year.

I hate to say this sitting third in the table, but Rafa and his stubborness is morphing into GH in many ways.

Why has Pako left? thats vey strange. Is it a coincedence that performances have dropped recently? who knows.

I just hope and pray we're not going to blow this season like so many before. The luck seems to be with us, yet I predict 3rd ahead of Chelsea.

if anyone feels betrayed i expect its rafa.

thats my take on it. and i like crouch a lot and i'd play him and torres most of the time.

and i never expect kewell to play for us again to be honest. i don't even think about him in terms of team selection.
that is an interesting way of looking at the Crouch situation.

Or not really of late - considering most people would back a team containing Kaka and Ronaldino etc. to do a little better at a world cup. The magic square formation is my second least favourite one after 3-5-2 to be honest.

                Harry unfit for contract

Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere but here goes. Mods please delete if already posted!

Leeds fans will not be surprised to learn that their erstwhile winger Harry Kewell has had his Liverpool future put in doubt by continuing injury. Kewell seems to be fit just for Liverpool's European Cup Finals and Australian World Cup matches - otherwise he slumps back into injury. Kewell has discovered that will have to forget spending time on suing BBC anchormen, and acquiring ever more ludicrous hair-dos and tatoos and actually get fit before Rafa Benitez will begin talks on a new contract.

Kewell's present contract expires this summer and his Scouse gravy boat seems to heading for the rocks at high speed. Kewell was injured in the World Cup and made made just three appearances last season.

Kewell famously dragged out contract talks during his final season at Leeds United, then announced that he would only move to Liverpool, being a fan of the club, despite a £15 million bid being made for him by Man Utd. Liverpool took advantage of the situation and refused to offer more than £5 million for the talented winger - 60% of which disppeared in the pockets of Kewell's Australian agent - who it later transpired wasn't licensed to be an agent and was a mere rep for someone with an agent's licence! More

It all left a bad taste in the mouth of all Leeds fans and most will be pleased to find the good ship Kewell foundering on the rocks without a lifeboat in sight. If any player deserved the misfortune heaped upon him it is one Harry Kewell.

A certain Mr Gary Lineker will no doubt be having a chuckle too "Quote

                  Ouch.... where's that from?

Reckon its a Leed's related slant on the Rafa quotes earlier in this thread; "He must be fit before we talk about a new deal though"

however for some people on here saying he is not interested in playing football that is pure sh*t. You cannot play if you injured
Amazing some of the old familiar faces on there, Dyer, Owen, Duff, Kewell. I'm no Doctor but what is it with some players? Is it really bad luck, chronically injury prone or in some cases, lack of motivation?

I could not agree more with your assesment of 'Englands' Peter Crouch. Think he need to remember he was on loan to Norwich about 3 years ago.

some players are just more injury prone than others, interesting those you mention above all relied on speed at one point

I'm not a big Crouch fan but Ashton was at Norwich a few years ago and is now a fine player. Not a top class player but still better than Crouch in my eyes.He will have a good year.

it's only my opinion of course. but rafa has said a few times in press conferences "peter needs to remember what got him in the england squad" and things of that ilk.

only once or twice but thats about as publicly critical of a player i've heard rafa be
