    The Vibe

This is what I understand from various threads, here and on other sites.

People are up for putting Benny and Babel on the right and left respectively, but complain there isn't enough width. Strange.

Some people are calling for our captain and talisman to be dropped/rested/whatever, because he's having a dip in form. Some of the same people are calling for Torres to pay every game no matter what.

The people who seem to have a clue about football have noticed that the absence of Agger and Alonso, with their distribution and ability to control/dictate, is hurting us. Spot on.

Nobody seems to have mentioned that Masher hasn't really offered us much this season. Hopefully that will change, as he is class.

The Kuyt bashing is getting incredibly boring. His game has suffered for the team. He is playing the way he is being told to, and is (and i'm reluctant to use the phrase) one of, if not THE, most hard working player in the squad. I will agree his first touch and distribution has been woeful this season though. But i'm quietly confident it will come good. (Possibly blind faith/wishful thinking, but hey).

Things are going incredibly well for us. Going from memory, and please correct me if i'm wrong, but wouldn't we have won the league for the last 2 seasons if points had counted from November? If that's the case, we are in with a VERY big shout this season. It's been written a thousand times on these and many other forums, but no points from open play, undefeated etc etc etc.

I've got this vibe (cue jokes and quote edits etc) going on this season. It's so positive. Rafa knows EXACTLY what he's doing. Today was an EXCELLENT result.

    Come on Redmen.
    That's the one...

It's not as boring as watching a Liverpool striker drawing blank after blank.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

I had a feeling people would focus on that part.

In fairness to him, he is being told to play in a position he's unfamiliar in, and which is also not the position that made him the est striker in Holland for however long.

I'm not saying he's the player we need, or maybe even want, but he works his ****ing arse off, out of position, and for that I love him.

I expected a bit of positivity from you of all people Shaggy.

Agreed with most of the rest of the post, though. Another good win and the excellent start continues.

Today was an important win for us. We didn't play well by all accounts but won. How many times have the Mancs done that when they won the league?
Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

You're right mate. But so are the people who say he doesn't score enough.

His first touch does look terrible, but most of his first touches should be volleys into the top corner, or unstoppable downward headers into the back of the net. He's not a midfielder or an 'in the hole' type player. He's a fish out of water where he's told to play.

I would just love to see him given a run of games playing right up top. Then i'll be prepared to judge him.

                  That's the one...

Last season he scored ONE CL goal - which was with almost the last kick of the entire campaign. Not one CL goal en route to the final.

This year he has three - so fair play. One in the CL proper and two in the qualifiers (which strangely 'don't count' in the CL goalscorer charts).

You're surely not trying to argue he's scoring enough goals to warrant being selected for almost every game?

No wonder Crouch is seemingly so pissed off. He's sitting in the stands, or at home, virtually every week and he's seeing the bloke who is primarily keeping him out never even look like scoring.

Crouch, for the most part over the last year more, has scored more often than not when selected - yet he's the one in the stands.

He must wonder what the **** he has to do, and by the same token, what Kuyt has to do to fall out of favour.

It's there for all to see. RCDNW for me, I love the bones of him, but this particular situation does leave me scratching my head a bit.

To be honest i think he more than contributes in any position, he ****in loves playing for us and gives 1000% every time he crosses the line, he aint Dalglish but who the **** is? If he scores 15 total this season from where hes playing its good enough for me.
