    Pennant......again

He needs an extended stay in the reserves.

First off let me say that I hate slagging off players and with the exception of a few (Traore, Diao and Diouf), I hahave never slagged any of our players off.

I have never liked Pennant and don't think he is anything special on the pitch. Whenever he is able to put two good displays together people on here go on how he should be in the England squad - bollox. for every 2 or 3 good displays he plays ****e for 10! He is so bloody inconsitant, but you can be sure that when he loses the ball he'll fall to the ground clutching his legs, wanting a foul.....when it is not given he is up and running like a headless chicken again.

This lad is not of the required quality and I think it's time for Benayoun to be given an extended run on the right of midfield.

I don't know man, he player quite well today ... Maybe his position actually is not on the wing, but more in a central position like today ... I've never seen him attack as much as today 8)

I've mixed views on Pennant tbh but after watching the highlights of our game with Wigan...

WTF was he doing playing Bent onside after we cleared there corner criminal really, i bet Rafa will have bolloxed him
for that(and quite rightly) even though we got a massive let off with that one.

1 goal in 60 games now but he sort of created the goal today, even though Yossi still had a lot to do after the pass reached him.

I don't think Yossi is a particularly great player but in the space of a week he's already created more goals and scored more goals than Pennant has done in the last 5 months.

If we replaced Pennant with the right type of player I'd have no problems with him going in January. I'd even suggest having Gerrard there would be better when Xabi regains his fitness.

There are a number of players who fall into the same bracket as Pennant in our squad - if we thinned those out too I doubt we'd be in the position we are at present - unbeaten in all competitions, nicely placed in the league.

There are no easy solutions and this is not Championship Manager where Rafa can bring in players with a click of his fingers.

So there is at least one more than me that thinks doing what he did is unacceptable.

He must have seen that the rest of the team moved up from his position and he still walked back even that he also must have seen that Wigan had the ball.

Pennant isn't that intelligent on the pitch but that was just plain stupid.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Pennant was one of the best players on the pitch ffs. When will people give him some credit, I am fed up of the same people saying the same stuff and constantly not giving the guy credit. He has caused no trouble since joining us and has been performing well for nearly a year now. Although some people will say it was after xmas, it's just that they can't exept him doing well. Pat your arguements are **** and very very boring every other post is you saying Pennant's ****.
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

                            Well said

I don't know what he's got to do to shut some people on here up. We've screamed for a line hugger who can get crosses in for ages and now that we've got a player who does create chances he doesn't score enough goals. Maybe if he had an exotic name he would be more appreciated

Get off his back. Can't you just enjoy the result and the gaining another 3 points?I'm sure it was Pennant with the assist for the goal.
