Personally I don't think he is the type who needs games to get his form - he's done really well as a sub/
occasional starter but at the moment his confidence is shot. He won't get an arm round his shoulder from Rafa - it'll be 'pull your socks up and try harder, son'
nearly sure he has never scored as a sub, which makes him 100% useless from the bench (as a striker whose primary job it is to score goals). much as i hate the ****er, after he got his first for the club his goals per game ratio was pretty decent

      European history

Liverpool are making their sixth CL group stage appearance having made their debut in the competition in 2001. They are trying to emulate AC Milan by becoming the second club to win the trophy, having been runners-up in the previous season - 14 years after the Italian club achieved it.
agree what to **** they on about ???

leaving myself open for some serious stick if i have misinterpreted it

I think January is unlikely as we would need a replacement, but not out of the question. Kuyts position on the other hand I think is safe for a while longer yet, his attitude is absolutely first class.
yup that is a good comparision. Whilst Crouch maybe more skillful than Kuyt, Kuyt works a lot more harder for the team and that selfless attitude will always be a winner for Rafa.
I just dont think Crouch will be here in a years time.

What's wrong with it that you two can see out of interest?

The 6th time refers just to the Champions League rather than europe and I think the punctuation might be confusing but they are saying that we want to become only the second team to win it the year after being runners up. Seems ok to me.

Ignore this comma and it makes more sense.

I think it might be this bit?

"Liverpool are making their sixth CL group stage appearance having made their debut in the competition in 2001".

Makes it sound like we hadn't already won it 4 times!

Yeah, probably should have been titled Champions League History.

So context, accuracy and punctuation aside, anything wrong?

Chrono and operation are right. it does make sense. AC were runners up one year and won it the next which we are going to do this year and the CL is different to the European cup and we are thereofre only in our 6th season of it
                    in january we were doomed.

in august we will rise from the ashes of ****e and march on again
