there's no hiding it was disgraceful. the only prespective i have is that we are carrying too many passengers in our squad and someone has to be held accountable. Watching liverpool lately is like watching 11 randoms that you pick in a school playground for the first time who've no idea how to play with each other.

Funny! I've said the same thing when we drew at Portsmouth. It was the "kick we needed" back then already ... I hope we don't end up all bruised and beat up in hospital then
This is ****! Absolute ****! With players we have, we should be able to defeat every team out there ... yet we can't even set-up an attack (or actually do set up one in 94th minute). Disgraceful really!
I'd fine the players. Simple as that! No wages for **** performances.

Dress it up how you like, nicey, but the long and the short of it is that we were ****e, got what we deserved and didn't look like we could score in a brothel. To many average payers playing in the same team and absolutely no drive, creativity or passion on show. Add tha to the fact that Rafa ios continually changing the team for changings sake and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to see where we're going wrong.
Don't expect our fortunes to magically turn around in time for Sunday.Babel fanclub member # 4!!!

Pretty grim but very true. No drive, no passion and absolutely no idea in any of those matches. I'm not expecting things to magically turn around in time for Sunday.
Rafa continues to rotate for rotations sake and if you continually make disjointed team selections you'll get disjointed performances.
Rafa talks about having players fresh for the run in....well there's no point having fresh players for the run in if we've got nothing to play for.Babel fanclub member # 4!!!

The thing is mate, the last time we lost in Europe was when? Athens, against AC Milan, in the ****ing Final.
And before that? Tell me, Benfica? When was that?
The thing is, one bad result and people go to all extremes...
It's the second Group game, we WILL qualify, and Rafa will still be manager.
So we play one **** game, so we play a couple, it was always going to end that way, after the Derby game everyone thought we were untouchable, in Europe and in the league, but there are always cycles in life, cycles everywhere, like the music you're into, the women you go out with, whatever the ****, and **** just hits the fans sometimes. That's life, it ain't always hunky dory, so man up, take the **** performance on the chin and walk on.
That's my philosophy and I know for a fact I'm on of the very very few who think that way - it has NOTHING to do with my love and affection for the club, far from it. But sometimes, as Indy's father said 'Just let it go, Indy, just let it go'

Maybe I'm letting my bad mood get the better of me but I'm not so sure any of us can say that qualification is a certainty. If we're going to qualify we need to win the next 4 matches and that's something that looks beyond us at the moment, especially on tonights performance.
I actually think that we could end up playing UEFA Cup footy after christmas.Babel fanclub member # 4!!!

finnan, carragher hypia riise/arbeloa
pennant gerrard mascarano babel
voronin torres
swap hypia for agger and pennant for gerrard on the right when alonso's back.
Yossi, Levia kewell if (ha) fit and Kyut or Crouch on the bench.
Stick with the same 16 players upto xmas or we've blown it. we will only win the league this way, too many changes is costing us.

Fair enough. So we mightnt qualify, but I believe it to be a knee-jerk reaction.Originally posted by kurtangle01 View PostMaybe I'm letting my bad mood get the better of me but I'm not so sure any of us can say that qualification is a certainty. We've got Besiktas home and away, we've got Porto at home and Marseille away.
You might think 'that's something that looks beyond us at the moment', but those games stretch out between now and ****ing December. Please, dont tell me you SERIOUSLY believe we will continue in the 'rich vein' we have (until now) right up to De-****ing-cember. I mean come on. Have you ever seen us, or Rafa, go on such a ****ing bad run, that it would stretch not over one month, or 2, but actually 3?!?!!??!?!
Of course you haven't and you wouldn't expect to. Because Rafa aint a thick ****er and he will know what will have gone wrong, how, and how to amend it. He always does. Especially in Europe.
I fully believe (and I can substantiate my claim due to historical Rafa evidence) that we will qualify.
BUT. Even if we didn't and we weren't in the whole thick of things, considering the past success we've had in Europe over the last 3 years, what could you realistically say to Rafa? '**** Off, we don't need **** ***** like you at the club?'
What if we had a manager who didn't rotate, who did exactly as people would want (on here)? Do you realistically think we'd win the league and the ****ing European Cup? Just by going what people demand?
I highly ****ing doubt it, seriously. It takes the piss most of the time (I'm not addressing you mate), how people believe that the flavour-of-the-month-footballing-opinion would have as much worth in X-years time as it would have now? It wouldn't, as it doesn't now. In my opinion, it's all just knee-jerk, Rafa's the man at the helm, he aint a ****ing idiot and he will get it right.
As he said a season ago 'Even I and my team (ie. his assistants etc.) are still learning, we are always learning'
Like Tomkins or Tomlins or what the fellas name is 'I'm not trying to controversial (like the press), I'm trying to look through the eyes of Rafa'.
That is what I also do and will always try to do, because there's enough bashers out there who don't.
However, I still believe you are one of the most reasonable posters on here kurt, mate

I'm sorry but a negative reaction isn't always a knee jerk one. We were frighteningly bad, so bad that tonight we were worse than under Houllier and the Wigan win was a fluke we did not deserve. I'm fairly sure we never strung 4 passes together. It doesn't even need to go in to detail as we were piss poor all over the pitch.
The entire team were awful but Momo goes ASAP for as much as little as we can get for him. Shamefully bad! Also Crouch isn't a bad player but almost forces the long-ball tactics which any half decent opposition can suck up all day long.
I still wouldn't swap Rafa for any other manager but this is his fault. Our team is far better than that performance.
