I was in shock watching that.
Im not actually sure about that Shaggy. Who did we play well against? Chelsea probably. Even in the destruction of Derby we were ****e for a half hour until we got a lucky goal. We were lucky against Villa and Wigan.

We cant break teams down and if we dont get that breakthrough we just go from bad to worse. We have no leadership

Momo is under severe pressure after that, still I think that he has the right attitude and may well serve as a huge kick up the ass that he, and all the ****ing team, need. Play Mascher for ****s sake!!!

Thought we played well at Villa, very well against Chelsea, ruthless at Sunderland, very well against Derby once the floodgates opened.

I thought the crowd were crap last night as well. Outsung from the start by Marseille and throughout the game.

I blame fan rotation. When was the last match that the crowd was the same as the last?

TBH, i thought the away game at Porto was worse.

Last night was ****e too, mind...

We'll take 6 from Besiktas and beat Porto at home so no real bother.

Personally, I think it was just one of those games where none of our players could do right, and I think it's just best to leave it alone and forget about it! Performances like last night's happen every once in a while and it was always going to be difficult especially when the opposition had everything to gain and nothing to lose!

Let's hope normality is restored against Spurs at the weekend. Just had to turn down a ticket for the game to, gutted!

IMO that is absolutely what the problem is. No partnerships or understanding are allowed to develop in crucial areas in the centre of the park or on the flanks, and especially so up front. This then creates situations like Crouch or Momo who are clearly off their game and never given the chance to get into any kind of rythmn as it could be 3 weeks before they kick a ball in anger again.

While i agree that rotation is all part of the modern game, to be changing half the side week in week out is utterly ridiculous and while this continues we will never get any kind of the neccesary consistency to challenge for the league.

IMO, this season seems to be panning out as one that promised much, but will deliver little if we continue in the current vein.

I have already said that we have a to big squad and that is the main problem.

Rafa don't have any other option than to rotate the team very much to keep everyone close to full match fitness. Sissoko really isn't good enough but he need to play in case we would need him. You can say the same about Riise and Crouch.

That's three players that shouldn't be playing at all because they are not good enough for a team fighting for the title. Hyypia isn't good enough either but he must play until we have signed a better replacement.

They are taking playing time from players that need to play to get better understanding on the pitch and play themselves into form. You can't do that if you are benched or not playing at all.

We also have a few players that play out of position and that don't help either. Kuyt plays as an hard working attacking midfielder, he is a striker. Babel plays as a winger, he is a striker. Benayoun plays a winger, he is an attacking midfielder.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

The passing and first touches of most of them would be unnaccepable at my Sunday league team, and the "drive and passion" would certainly never be accepted.

I hope every single one of them wakens up this morning feeling totally ashamed of themselves.
I started following the Reds in '65 too, like you that was probably the most spineless and inept performance I have ever had the misfortune to witness.

I would sell a few players in January.

Riise, Crouch, Sissoko, Pennant and Hyypia(if we can sign up a replacement).

We can cope without them even if we get a few injuries and that means that we don't really need them.

Nothing to do with rotation - everyone on that pitch played some part in the last few games.

We can't pass for ****. Untill we pass it better we will continue being ****. That games proved that Rafa not playing Torres against Pompy made no difference. If we can't string two passes together Torres won't score.

We are playing **** at the moment and we have to improve. We will do, I just hope it's quick enough.
