Sissoko Insists There Is No Crisis Or Need To Worry

    Excerpts Taken From Football 365

Liverpool midfielder Mohamed Sissoko has rubbished suggestions the club are in crisis following their surprise Champions League home defeat to Marseille. "We are very disappointed," the 22-year-old said. "We didn't play a good match, we were bad. I don't know how to explain. We didn't play well from the start when we weren't using the ball well. We gave the ball away too much and despite their problems they had, they ended up giving us problems. I had some difficult moments but now we have to work, get our heads right. It is not a crisis, it is one of those matches that happen. You get games like that (well you certainly do my friend)."

The bits highlighted above I find laughable. We gave the ball away too much? Talk about trying to deflect the blame. I had some difficult moments? You were a bag of ****e mate, I could have done better and i'm 21 stone and well out of shape. Why the f*** should Momo worry though? He's on a mega bucks contract knowing full well Rafa would play him if he was in traction.

Sorry for the rant fella's, I seldom start a post on here let alone start one critising a player but this guy is a bag of ****. He's done nothing for the last two seasons but give the ball away and whatever promise Rafa see's in him I fail to see it other than the fact he can muscle opposition players off the ball (and give it straight back to them). The blue****e must be laughing their arse's off now considering we stole him from under their noses. Can anyone please point me to a statistics site that shows premier players pass completion rates? I'd love to see the stats on Momo.

    Let the flaming commence.

Could you tell me why you played while a better world class player Masher was on the bench???

That decision in itself leads me to believe Rafa is now insane What about Babel? The King, Kenny himself has said Babel is one of the most gifted * exciting players he's seen in years so what do we do? Like Nigel Clough & Jari Litmanen all them years back...play him bit part roles to try to keep him happy.

It's not a crisis, but if we drop anymore points in the next 2 games it certainly will be.
I think it's silly of Momo to play down the situation, we need to know that the players are feeling the heat after this latest debacle.

                :whatever:

                Not your post then really.

We can all quote Jamie Redknapp and Glenn Hoddle etc.

Momo is not a bag of ****.
Better off in our hands than with Moyes.

It's a TEAM game, so he's right to think about the team first. It's not about individuals.

So after his 'brilliant' display last night you'd play him against spurs then would you? He's f***ing atrocious and it's a smack in the teeth to Mash that Momo played ahead of him last night. If this continues we've two chances of signing Mash permanently after his loan deal expires.......slim and none......and slims left town. I'm sorry my friend but if you think Momo is Liverpool class I have to think you're deluded. I don't mean to besmirch you in any way but the bloke is crap and as someone on here last night so eloquently put it....he couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo.

No I wouldn't play him against spurs and I didn't say he was brilliant last night.
Are you putting Crouch in there aswell. What about Yossi?
                      :whatever:

Are you putting Gerrard in your line up against Spurs cos he wasn't exactly great either but we all know he MIGHT be able to pull it out of the bag when needed.

Momo is a decent squad player and decent squad players should have been able to beat Marseille last night.

                      Blame Rafa, Blame Rotation.

Don't blame Momo for that defeat last night.

I wasn't solely blaming Momo for last night but it's fair to say that almost every ball he kicked he gave it to the opposition which helped us in no way whatsoever and it wasn't just last night he's done it. Stevie was a bag of ****e last night as was Torres, Carra, Yossi, Sammi and Leto. I think the only one who can escape any blame is Pepe as I don't think any keeper could have stopped that ball. As a squad player against teams like Derby then maybe yes but in the Champs League and any match other than teams like Derby then he wouldn't even make it on the bench if most pool fans had their way.

How many "Momo is crap" threads are we gonna have to have? Merged.

As Shanks007 says, the lad had a poor game last night, but the rest of them hardly covered themselves in glory either. Every ****ing week if we don;t win 6-0, in fact, every week even if we do, there has to be a scapegoat doesn't there? If Kuyt isn't playing, then its Momo. Or Riise. or Crouch. Or whoever else the target of the week is. Before his injury, half the board thought Alonso should be benched. Now virtually everyone's bemoaning his loss. I've seen people calling for Leto to start. Now everyone thinks Rafa is mad for playing him. We didn't win certain games because Torres was on the bench? Well we just lost when he played. Rotation is evil. So drop him and him and him and him then it'll all be great. AAAARRRRGGGG!!! Short sightedness and memory-loss abounds. Its convenient for people, but its very frustrating to read.

This has been a slump in form, undoubtedly, but the whole team is to blame. The sides on the park, rotation of no, have all been good enough to perform much better than they have. BUt its not a disaster, we'll be 2nd in the league if we win our game in hand, and we're perfectly capable of still qualifying from our CL group. the standard of performance has not been up to scratch, but I don't think this team will hide. Its a shame some people just can't have a little bit more faith.

In all fairness mate i've been slating Momo for over a year now. I honestly believe he couldn't keep the ball if you nailed it to his foot and last night just showed on a worldwide stage his failings. His overall game over the past two seasons have been very poor and he's just not up to Liverpool class. I don't only blame him, Rafa must shoulder most of the blame for playing him when he's clearly not up to it. To have a monster like Mash on the bench and Momo on the pitch maybe suggests he's losing the plot a little.

What I really dont understand is why Rafa didnt replace Momo with Macherano. If you're not able to hold the ball in midfield, pass the ball in midfield or win second balls in midfield, how will you create chances? Our two midfielders is supposed to win the ball and pass it around, control the game. Why change our attacking players when we wasnt able to give them anything to work with??

That wasn't necessarily aimed at you, but the board in general

His passing is shocking. Rather than improve, it just hasn't. Given.

Sissoko is a destroyer. On form, his game is destructive to the opposition, and in the time he has been at the club he has had some great games against good teams. Now, I agree Mascherano is the more complete defensive mid, and I would rather he started most games ahead of Momo, especially in a 4-4-2, but, well, he has been. Sissoko over his time at the club has played plenty of games "on a world stage" and never, to my memory, had such a poor game. He is capable of bossing a match, with someone like Alonso alongside him to do his pasing for him preferably, but he just didn't last night. Maybe Masch was a little tired, hasn't he played like 3 games in 8 days, Sissoko, and the whole team that was selected, should have been good enough for that game. They weren't, the opposition simply caught us on the hop. **** though it is, it happens.
