    Milan Baros

    Ok, hear me out.

Would he be an improvement on our strikers now? Other than Torres of course.

Last night i was watching the season highlights from 04-05 and i think he scored something like 13 goals. Hardly prolific i know, but i think that's a decent amount for the team we had then.

He has great pace, and was good with the ball at his feet, and to be honest i was a bit disappointed we sold him.

Now i know we're not going to sign him again, but i reckon he would link up very well with Torres, and i wanted to ask everyone the question, should we have sold him?

Maybe i'm and i'm prepared to be flamed, just wanted to know everyone's opinions.

For the record i would sign Anelka.

Marky did you even read my post?

That doesn't really answer anything. I didn't suggest buying him back.

Rafa did the right thing when he sold him. We needed the money to sign Crouch. Not that he is any improvement. He was also not following Rafa's orders so we had no other choice than to sell him.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Sori dawg, got the wrong end of the stick dere
Naw he wasn't up to it Baros, some games he was and i loved him for his energy and work-rate but too often he was extremely frustrating and ultimately had to be moved on.
Nice lad and bags of potential, there's no doubting that.

Rafa was proved right because he was ****e at Villa

Milan couldn't 'link up well' with anyone...he was one of the biggest head-down headless chickens I've ever seen.

As someone else said he was ****e at Villa, totally vindicating the decision to get rid.

I reckon he would have been better if we were more like the Czech team. I.e we could actually pass the ball.

Ah yes, i completely forgot about that aspect of his game, used to frustrate me.

That said, i still think he would've been a decent option for us now.

Yes i am completely disregarding his time at Villa.

He did a good link up with the corner flag on many occasions.
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

Throws me back to the summer of 2004 when Owen was delaying the signing of a new contract and Baros and Czech team was ripping Euros apart with their attacking football. I was on .Tv message boards at that time and was in the "
screw Owen, baros is the messiah" camp

Wonderful talent, good dribbler and excellent pace and decent finisher to boot. Only if he had the intelligence of a striker. Had everything other than the brain to be a very very good striker.

As for his performance for the Czech team, I will choose to ignore that and file it under the EL-Hadji " Two times african player of the year" Diouf folder.

That's because of the longball football Villa play. Even Kevin Phillips was ****e there and he has scored everywhere else. I miss Milan, but the question if we should have kept him is a bit pointless.

                          I realise that.

Just wanted to hear some opinions on the matter, considering Torres seems to be our only striker at the moment really capable of cutting through a defence.
