If everyone in the squad was 100% fit I think our best team would be:

The fact is though that Kewell will never be 100% fit, even if he ever returns, so I'd probably go with Arbeloa ahead of Riise as I think Arbeloa is a better crosser and a bit more nimble moving forward.

I actually think AF is right, with the exception of Arbeloa for Aurelio on current form. I hate Gerrard on the right, but he's better than anything else we have.

I'd go with that apart from kuyt who would drop too deep and leave torres on his own. Voronin instead for me i really am not a fan of dirk and would happily sell him in january.

If that is more or less our best starting 11 and we were to play that formation, then my friend, our full backs are not strong enough going forward. I doubt aurelio has a full season in him and finnan isn't getting any younger.

Also with this set up if we need to attack or are struggling breaking through one of the strikers can be replaced and Alonso move ino Masherano's role, gerrard into the middle and yossi brought on.

I really do think regardless of formations we just need some consistancy.
