    Positive Friday

Its time to put the toys back in the pram people. Marseille was a speed bump. A appalingly bad speed bump, but an insignificant one nonetheless. We didnt get knocked out of the CL by that result. We didnt drop points against our rivals by that result. Sure it may prove telling in time, but at this stage we have no way of proving that. It may be precisely what the team needs to raise their game again. We all get complacent at times.

Time to lay off the players as well. SG has always been a player that has ups and downs. So why do we expect him to be any different now? Some clowns are even talking about cashing in on him now which is so idiotic it doesnt really deserve discussion. He's our best player.

Momo had a shocker. However only a few weeks ago the forum abounded with comments of 'Momo is boss' due to his excellent perfomances in the early season matches. One poor match has not made him a bad player. He's a class defensive player who is prone to misplacing passes. We are all aware of this.

Why are we so keen to get rid of Peter Crouch all of a sudden? Our best striker last season has now become public enemy no 1 because he is speaking his mind on rotation. If he feels that he isnt getting enough games then he has every right to say so. granted i wish he would direct his moans to the gaffer rather than the press, but i still think he's a fine striker that offers our forward line something different, something special when it comes off. This 'close the door on the way out' commentary is fickle in the extreme. Crouch didnt play well on wed either, but then the strikers got absolutely no service throughout. Personally I thought crouch played better than torres.

Benitez rotates. Like it or loath it, we cannot and will not change this fact. Get used to it because its here to stay under rafa. Who is a fcuking top top manager. Think of what he has brought to the club since his arrival. We are now a real force in the premiership rather than an also-ran. There has been an improvement in the league this year as promised. Last year we were out if it at this stage.

So get a grip, its far too early for pessimism at this point in time. We have a good squad and are going in the right direction as a club. One bad result is not the end of the world.

Good post. It's important that we don't lose site of the fact that we are actually doing ok, but at the same time realise we cannot go on producing performances like we have been coming out with in the last several games. Recapture our early season form and we'll have ridden this patch of horrendous displays far better than we ever would have in recent times.

Indeed. Im not for a second suggesting that we should be over the moon with recent performances, as they certainly have been substandard, but it is too early for doom and gloom which has infected the last few days.
