I would sign up Barry next summer but I doubt that Villa would sell him for anything less than stupid money.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

That's a good shout actually, never thought of that. He gets on very well with Gerrard, scores lots of goals, can play anywhere on the left, takes a mean penalty too!!

You'll be looking at serious dosh though, £15m or so

I would say that Barry is worth £15m if you consider how many problems he would solve for us. I little bit like when Man U payed over the odds for Carrick.

          No way!

I am well glad you are not in charge of the coffers.

If Barry handed in a transfer request though might get him at a good price. Good player.

Wasn't Houllier once linked with buying him ??

We could sell Sissoko and Riise. Barry is better than both of them as midfielder/left back.

Sell two players we don't need and replace them with one we really need.

He can play left back, left wing back, left midfielder, central defender, defensive midfielder and central midfielder.

We have a to big squad which means a lot of rotations to keep the players match fit. If we sell a few of them, say four, and replace them with two who can do the same job then that is excellent business.

I guess that you as well as me laughed at the price Man U payed for Carrick. Well, they probably won the league thanks to that signing.

                          Gareth Barry?! 15 Million?!

The difference between him and Carrick is that Carrick was at a bigger club challenging for fourth spot. Villa haven't challenged Europe in a long time so thats why there is a mass hysteria for Barry's 'price-tag'. Barry at £10 million might be a rip off but you never know, he might step up the plate if a big team signs him.

If we could get 8 - 10mil for sissoko, then a similar price for barry would be ok in my book

Kewell scored a brilliant volley against them at the Kop end in the 2005/06 season.
