Looking back to Wednesday nights defeat to Marseille I now feel this could be a good thing for us because firstly if we are going to lose at home I would rather it be in the champions league where we still have plenty of points to go for to seal qualification than the league where the effect will be felt for the whole season.
This result has been come on the back of some really poor performances. Agger is a huge loss and Alonso being injured at the same time makes matters even worse. With Sami in the team we are sitting back way to deep thus inviting teams on to us and with left back probably our weakest link already whoever plays there must also tuck in and compensate for Samis lack of pace. Carra is also wary of Samis shortcomings and is constantly covering, than we have Momo playing really deep as teams come onto us. The whole team seems to be getting sucked into surrounding the left sided centre back area. We really miss Xabi at the moment as Momo cant put his foot on the ball and boss the centre and neither can Marsh (although he is a far better player).
Stevie is well off the boil at the moment and his form isn't being helped by the Vortex being created by the leaden legs of our big Finn and our already problematic left back position.
The only solution it seem to me is to play Arbeola at centre back instead of Sami this would be my team to face Spurs today.
