      every single time

this isn't just about the last week, its about the last 17 years.

its easy to feel down now but it seems to be the same every year. no matter how much money we spend, we still dont seem to be getting any where near where we need to be.

another loss today (and given where spurs are it should of been 3 points) and we're 6 points off, and no matter the late draw, our good start and optimism have faded.

we can blame the international break, or the fact that pako left, but at the end of the day we need results, and soon, starting across the park when we play everton. anything but a win there would be an absolute tragedy. we need 3 points against the bitters, and 3 against arsenal to be on for a title challenge.

i'm not going to go down the route i saw so much after marseille in tearing the team apart, but this slump we're in needs turned around in our next three games if we want to count ourselves as challengers in the prem and CL

        I miss Agger.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

              Meh, could've been worse.

Still think we defend too deep with Sami in the team hence it appears we're getting battered by no mark every week.

Nowt personal to Sami, but he doesn't fit into the team anymore.

              Still a legend.

To be fair we were good first half. if Torres had finished or SG's freekick gone in we'd have been comfortable. But our wide areas and Central Defence worry me to death. Rafa has to buy in Jan. A CB is a must, and 1 if not two goalscoring strikers and a quality wideman. I've been very patient with Kuyt, but I'm beginning to lose faith with him. His first touch isn't what it should be for a LFC 1st choice striker. The number of times he gave the ball away when we were in a position for a cross from the right when pushing for an equaliser. The less said about our wingers / wide midfielders the better.

                Still too much hoofing.

The way I see it, we were the superior side throughout most of the match and should have won by a clear margin. Horrible communication between Carragher and Hyypia cost us two freak goals, and that put us in a very difficult position. The players' confidence was shot badly after that 2nd goal and we rushed attacks instead of being a little more patient. Rafa constantly asked his players to calm things down. We eventually got the goal but I certainly feel it would have been a cruise had our CB's been on form.

                    C'oh!

Can't agree with that, we looked like a championship side playing away from home in the second half. It was all Spurs.

                      A few thoughts....

First a question. Of all our players, how many are in genuinely good run of form right now? Torres aside I just can't think of one. And I'm reaching with Torres a bit.

There's rotation and then there's rotating so much that it's upsetting continuity, both individual form and team cohesion. We seem to lack either.

Interesting that when Hyypia was marking Berbatov on the long ball, Berbatov was winning everything, but then carra marked him and he won very little. Unlike Sami and it cost us dear.

Why didn't Benayoun and Babel start on the flanks?

**** Pennant right off. Absolutely ****ing useless.

Thought Voronin and Torres combined well in the first half. But why was Voronin taken off instead of bringing the alehouse Kuyt on and playing him right side?

Gerrard needs a goal to get his modjo back. If only that free kick or first half chance had gone in.

Mascher was excellent today. He really got forward well too.

Rafa continuing to tinker and frustrate.

Still unbeaten but must beat the rats at castle greykull and the arse at ours

Not at our best once again. We dodged it basically, but we are still UNBEATEN.

Two weeks until the next game.

I know there are internationals in there but its time to regroup and think about things.

We haven't been right for a month at least. This might just give us a bit of space to get things going again.
Twin boys - now arriving late August 2008.

Its gonna be Fernando and Gerrard if I get my way!

Can see why Rafa wanted Heinze.

Thought Babel and Benayoun looked good when they came on.

Difference between them and Riise/Pennant was vast.

Definitely not, they rode their luck after the 2-1. It was obvious we were going gung ho from that point yet they might have had one threat on our goal from that point.
