I hear prawn sandwich sales are on the up in Anfield ;-)

At least with the new Anfield stadium, the design of the roofing for the Kop is such that sound will continue to reverberate around the stadium even when people stop singing, that in itself might help gee people up a little bit.... would prefer if the players could do that themselves instead !!!

I dont know mate, I know the Marseille fans were in very good voice the other day. Only listened to the game today upto when the Crow scored and i thought we sounded in good voice. Dunno what it was like after. But the only thing I can think of is maybe there is an air of apprehension surrounding the crowd, esp in the knowledge that defensively we are a bit weak at the moment. If we converted some of the early chances and went 2/3 up then perhaps the crowd would relax and the songs would flow. But we didnt, the jitters set in and then Spurs scored a couple and the tension was wrenched up.

Quite Embarrassing I have to say, I watch a lot of football on the box and Anfield has to be one of the quietest places in the Lg, sounds more like a cricket match sometimes .. European nights a different story even when we are playing like a bag of rubber spanners you can hear the fans roar. Someone once suggested it was because Lg games are seen my mainly old fart season ticket holders who cant be arsed to sing a song. An embarrasing 2 chorus's of Championos I could hear today and that was it ..

Embarrassingly poor crowd today. Makes me angry to hear the opposition constantly chuckling at the lack of atmosphere, but it's nothing new. All saved up for the big nights, just like some of our players.

Worryingly our Premiership crowd has been getting quieter and quieter for years IMO. It changes in the big cup games.
Any reasons for this? I don't accept the OOT argument because surely most of our season ticket holders have been in residence for years.
Has our fan base lost the belief that we can win the title?

yeah i agee fella just in from match and was poor

didnt help with the performance mind but ya can pick on 1 hand the "big" games fans get up for these days

feck all to do with oot ers

but being honest no crowd is up for it every game ?

as i said midweek euro game sin this early league mean feck all anymore

for me i think more ale should be sold at the grounds - ale and shorts

ya cant beat a sing song full of bevvy
