They sing songs even me da can just about remember. They need to crack on with the songs people know. When they do do that, its works a treat.

Come on Glove you are a steward, why don't you and your fellow stewards get them to do this?
      We come not to play.

Whatever it is, its depressing. I was a regular throughout the eighties. Yes I was one of the fortunate ones who grew up on Liverpool success. There were times I'd get frustrated - such as the slow display in the first half of the European Cup semi-final against Panathinaikos in 1985 - but some older head would point out that we were just biding our time .. and sure enough we won that game 4-0. I loved the constant success and I loved the way each generation would pass on the love of the game. We were famous worldwide for our love and knowledge of the game.
Towards the end of the 80s I noticed a change. There were people on the Kop who just wanted a moan, maybe they were spoiled by success, maybe society was changing - prawn sandwiches and all that .. I hate that the game has been taken away from the working class. Whelan and Houghton took a lot of stick (Whelan, in particular, unmerited) and people seemed to come to the game with the plan of having a whinge rather than getting behind the team.
One of my favourite moments at Anfield came in our last league winning seaon. I was due to travel to Italy but my last home match was against Millwall. It was 0-0 with 10 minutes to go - a bad result and people were frustrated. They hit the bar and the whinges grew, but I saw the opportunity and managed to get a roar going. We headed down the other end, got a corner, scored, won and did not look back. Doubtless I overplay in my own head my part, but the fact is that crowd encouragement plays a big part. The current team get very little when they need it most. Maybe they are paid a lot of money, maybe tickets are expensive. Maybe it is resented that entertainment is not providing value for money, but at the end of the day, what do we want .. number 19! and if we are not prepared to support through the wind and the rain, then we as Liverpool fans are not preserving our heritage and we do not deserve it.
I'm playing all the right notes. Not necessarily in the right order. I'll give you that, sunshine.

Would be much better atmosphere if the team actually played some good football

I'm guessing that after you wrote that lovely little piece you calmly placed down your can of Stella, put on your Rockports, tucked your blue Adidas trackies into your white Diadora socks and went out to find a homeless person to tw*t!

Ps show me where I can buy a season ticket, regardless of cost, and you can argue the "I go to the game" angle all you like!

i honestly thought it sounded like a decent atmosphere, and i think people are putting to much thought into what the spurs fans were singing, taking offense to the words.

were not above getting the same roasting that the mancs get, when a set of supporters like the spurs havnt got much to get at you with, they inevitably pick something like lack of atmosphere

who the **** takes any notice to a bunch of supporters who spend a match singing songs about other teams rather than their own.

they have 1 song for spurs(we are totnum)the rest are all reserved for chelsea and arsenal.
im surprised people actually took those chants to heart and even agreed with them.

truth is,on our day we can raise the atmosphere like no one else, but for normal matchs were no better or worse than anyone else.
You two scousers are always yapping,I'm gonna show you some serious rapping.
I come from Jamaica,my name is John Barnes,When I do my thing the crowd go bananas.

It sounds like the microphones are right under the Away section to me.

You can hear the Liverpool chants...but they are feint. Where as the Tottenham ones were quite loud in comparison.

Im sure the away end weren't making THAT much more noise than the Kop. The kop wasn't fully rocking, but you could hear them.

Someone get down there and move the microphones so we can actually hear the home crowd on the tv
"When a man insults my country I insult him, by taking his woman" Tony Yeboah

"looking through your posts since 2007 and what you have consistently written about my football team I have come to the conclusion that if you had 1 more brain cell you would be a plant .. your father was a hamster and your mother smells of elder berries, I fart in your general direction ..." Nicey
