    The Big 4?

It should be called the Big 3 I think - might just give us a bit of motivation to achieve something. After all, how can we claim to be big when we haven't won the the most important trophy of all for so long?

The way we are playing we will be fighting for 4th/5th.
          We come not to play.

It practically was the big 3 before Rafa took over and we won the CL.
It used to pee me off that we wasn't mentioned in the same breath as Utd, Arse or Chavs anymore, then suddenley we were back up there.

We are right on the border though and another mediocre season will see us regarded in the same ilk as your Spurs and Geordies by the all seeing, all being Sky Sports "team".

nah for last few seasons it's kind of been

              Mancs
              chelsea
              -
              Arse
              liverpool
              -
              -
              -
              spurs
              newcastle
              everyone else

i expect this season, chelsea to drop a bit, us to improve a bit and arse to win it unfortunately

At this point in time I would certainly go for a Arse & Scum scrap for the top. Unless things on our behalf dramatically change sharpish, then we once again will be scrapping for the last spot of a CL qualifying position.

It's ironic though that most people (including me) would have put money on writing the Arse off this season and then look at what they go and do.
Someone once said it's a funny old game!

On a lighter note my youngest learnt to walk today so it put things into perspective.

                    Premier League > Champions League

                    (Certainly these days anyway).

What's that got to do with being in the big 4?? we're the only club in the big 4 who hasn't won the premiership so it's really a big 3. Not sure what your point is in relation to this thread.

We have finished 3rd in the last 2 seasons and won the CL the season before that. Could look at it the other way, how many of the Big 4 have won the CL and until they do should they be considered as such?

so did Notts Forest, so they are in too, so the big 4 now has 5.

You're missing the point - the Big 4 is a phrase regarding the top 4 in the premiership, otherwise real madrid and milan would have to be included. I'm not particularly proud that we're the only non premiership winning team in the so-called big 4.
