The next three games could shape our season

    Everton away
    Besiktas away
    Arsenal home

Three good results in our next 3 games and the season will be back well and truely on track, 3 poor ones and the season could be over in terms of the major silverware. Think I'm over reacting, well maybe a touch but they are 3 massive games.

    Best case scenario.
We beat the bitters, whilst Arsenal beat Derby at home. Points difference still 6. We win in Turkey to close in on the top 2. In a massive game at home we beat the Arse and the gap is down to a very manageable 3 points. With LFC back on form and with Arsenal due to lose key players in the new year to the African Cup of Nations, we are well poised to challenge for the title.

    Worst case scenario
We lose to the bitters whilst Arsenal beat Derby. We are then 9 points adrift.
We then lose to Besiktas. Marooned at the bottom of the table its UEFA cup at best. Even a draw in Turkey would be another body blow, particularly if porto win.
Against Arsenal we lose again, 12 points adrift means another year with no title. With the title all but gone and the Champions league a major struggle, Rafa will be under massive pressure.

Now there are loads of ifs and buts here and in all likelihood neither scenario will happen. But if we could string 3 wins together, the season would be well and truely turned around. However 3 poor results and the league in particular will have all but gone.

Its time for the Redmen to stand up and be counted

I swear i read a similar post last week saying the next 4 games would shape our season (including todays game)

good points made though, the next 3 games are vital to our season. Hopefully they will go our way.

Everton are playing horrible. Should be an easy 3 points if the midfield is right.

Any number of games after a bad run are going to be called "season changing" games because clearly if you win then you are hopefully back on track.

You could say that the next 15 games could shape our season aswell

would take a point against Arsenal and 2 wins against the others

I agree with you Bob but at the moment I can't see how we're going to win the next 3 games playing the way we are at the moment. The players are off form, we look completely disjointed and Rafa seems a little lost as to how to go about getting everything back on track again. The alarm bells rang weeks ago and things seem to be getting worse. Thank god for the international break.

Gotta beat that shower at the pit in 2 weeks. No excuses. We might not be playing great but they are hopelessly bad.

Perhaps this International break will prove more positive for us.

Only if Agger and Xabi are fit at the end of it!

Not a bad round up but Arsenal play Bolton not Derby, and surely best case scenario would be arsenal losing to them and us winning v everton and arse, reducing the gap to 0

Arsenal wont last the pace. Cant see them playing 'champagne football' 'oop north' when the nights set in. Manu cant possibly keep up this jammy run of 1-0's. Chelsea worry me slightly, and people are crazy to write them off in October.

Henk Ten Cate played a huge part in Barcas champions league win a few years back. If they get him like the rumours suggest, Id worry.

for me, I would say the next 30 league games shape our season.

you would hope that the players feel the need to beat everton and arsenal. even if we lose to besiktas, we still could qualify. would just have to win our last 3 CL League games.

Err..Manu just won 4-0 against Wigan..They have a lot of creative problems and scoring goals is going to be the least of their problems...If there is one team which breeds confidence from their wins and blows away the competition it is ManU..We need to reduce the gap fast..No more one points...We need to defeat Everton and Arsenal...
