2 months. He was hardly an "england" player though...he was just in the squad.

It was only after he started to score goals for us that he became a regular in the team.

Still it was off the back of his Southampton performances that he got the call up not because of anything Rafa did.

Should have sold him in the summer, like I said....

And I also said that of Momo too.

                    If only Rafa would listen

He scored one fantastic hattrick, and a bunch of goals in Europe, but he still only got 9 in 31 in the league. He isn't a massively "prolific" and clinical striker, his career stats show that, though he is capable of adding a lot in all round play to the team too. He deserves a fair crack undoubtedly, but when he has played this season he has not really taken his chances and performed as well as we know he can. But talk of him being treated like ****e is rubbish; Torres, Kuyt and Voronin have all had their time on the bench so far this season, and as for being out of the match day squad, well Crouch has proven he is not a good impact substitute. I like Crouch, but some of the rose-tinted specs in this thread are taking it a bit too far, and I don't see him as any more a definite a starter than his "rivals" on current form at least.

Meanwhile, Dirk Kuyt, a player with goalscoring pedigree in his career so far, has gone from being player of last season according to this board's votes at least, to the ultimate donkey. Undoubtedly he hasn't been delivering quite what was hoped of him so far, but in the first few games of this season the partnership between he and Torres looked effective to me, and we were actually winning too. The lack of support he gets on here is shocking. Actually the lack of support loads of players get on here after a few dodgy games is shocking.

Kuyt "a goalscoring pedigree"? In Holland?

This is the league where someone won 9-0 yesterday with a fat, slow Brazilian bagging 7. It is a joke league. The fact that Kuyt managed to be so prolific in that league proves it.

As for him being 'Est's player of the season' last year - . He was, incredibly, but it was such a hollow 'victory' that the result caused the then-flawed voting/scoring system to be changed!! If Kuyt was our best player last season, Neil Warnock was manager of the season.

The "lack of support he gets on here" isn't shocking. The number of goals he scores is shocking. He's a striker. He doesn't score any goals.

It's October and Kuyt hasn't looked like scoring a league goal.

No-one thinks Crouch is a "super striker" - they just think he deserves a fair crack of the whip, but he doesn't get one. Kuyt does, despite Crouch having a better goalscoring record for LFC. Crouch is being overlooked, continually, almost always in preference for a STRIKER who ISN'T SCORING ANY GOALS.

You'd have to be inhuman not to be ****ing pissed off about that.

Yet again, after his introduction yesterday, Kuyt was shocking. Yet again it bounced off him all afternoon. All he does is lose possession. It wasn't his fault we drew, like, but he was still toss when he came on.

The Kuyt lovers spent all summer telling everyone to "watch out", give him time and to wait and see how good he becomes in his 2nd season. Well, we're doing that and he's getting WORSE. Any defence of his non-goalscoring is just a stream of excuses. I'm sorry but it is. My eyes are wide open.

Why wasn't Voronin running around the centre-circle like a headless chicken yesterday, like Kuyt always is?

Anyway...Kuyt's been out of the side recently so hopefully the penny's dropped with Rafa.
