Good lord man! Gerrard shooting over the years has become gradually nearly as average as everyone elses. . . at times. The best strikers of the ball at the club by a mile are Agger Alonso and at the moment we sorely miss them.

OK hate to say this but Gerrard should take a leaf out of Fat franks book, what i mean by that is Fat Frank usually always hits the targets with his shots, be that ten rebounds later a goal, but a goal all the same and the reason for the goal, he has the shot on target not wide or over the bar.
          We come not to play.

It is in everyway the percentage shot - people go on about how lucky Lampard is and how many times a goal goes in after deflections but the fact is if you put the ball ahrd low and on target like him you maximise the chances of the shot going in deflected or otherwise.

I know I am going to get a lot of shtick but Fat Frank, even though he is a lazy ****, he always manages to get his shots on target hence the amount of goals he scores. I dunno but I see a relationship between shooting from far and getting it on target. If you get it on target the chances are, there might be a deflection, the keeper spills like yesterday and it ends up in the net or it is a goal anyway.

                See what I mean?

FWIW I agree with you all. I think as a team we should be working mid-range shots into our game more and Stevie should be fuzzing them hard and low at the target. In fairness to him, he used to find the bottom corners quite effectively, but he's tended to lash shots over and wide a lot more over the last 6-12 months.
