    Nathan Eccleston

    Been watching the Academy a fair bit of late.

    Why not try Eccleston alongside Torres for a game or even as sub?
    Kid is sharp as hell and would do NO WORSE a job than Rodney.

    Thoughts on him or any others?

    I'm always one who likes to see the youngsters given a chance, but there is NO WAI that Rafa will put an academy player straight into the first team.

        Like I said a few days ago in the other thread about the kid, he can't be any worse than the last two Manc strikers at the club: Paul Stewart and Neil Mellor...

          dont know much about the lad... i would say no chance for the first team in the league or champions league.... but if he is half decent maybe he deservesa shout in the carling cup

            would be a kick up the arse for the rest of the strikers if he was given a chance. could imagine crouch spitting his dummy even further out of his over long buggy though

              Does he have the physical nature to cope with big (invariblely ugly and fast) EPL defenders.
              I certainly agree with you, but the oppurnities appear limited currently - playing them against Everton or Arsenal or CL games (which are now vital) seems to much pressure for them
              Maybe against Cardiff in the CC?
              I really think Rafa is missing a trick here - maybe not necessarily with Eccleston, but with players in the older age groups (the players in the two Youth FA cup win for example)
              It may act as a reminder to the 1st team players, it may actually reconnect the fans to the team (a new scouse hero for example) and actually, just maybe they`ll be good players
              We need better attacking players!

                      I saw the Academy prog too and Eccelston certainly stood out, as did the German fella and Ajdarevic who scored a peach of a volley against Blackburn.

                          Eccleston does look a good prospect, as do Amoo and Adrajevic(sp).
