Well done El Nino and Stevie..

Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard have both been shortlisted for FIFA's world footballer of the year award.
The governing body of world football have drawn up a list of 30 players who are in contention for the honour.

National team coaches and managers, as well as captains, now have the opportunity to vote, with the top three to be named on 17 December in Zurich.

Barcelona's Lionel Messi and AC Milan's Kaka are expected to be among the favourites for the honour.

    List in full:
Buffon (Juventus, Italy), Cannavaro (Real Madrid, Italy), Cech (Chelsea, Czech Rep), Ronaldo (Man Utd, Portugal), Deco (Barcelona, Portugal), Drogba (Chelsea, Ivory Coast), Essien (Chelsea, Ghana), Eto'o (Barcelona, Cameroon), Gattuso (AC Milan, Italy), Gerrard (Liverpool, England), Henry (Barcelona, France), Juninho (Lyon, Brazil), Kaka (AC Milan, Brazil), Klose (Bayern Munich, Germany), Lahm (Bayern Munich, Germany), Lampard (Chelsea, England), Marquez (Barcelona, Mexico), Messi (Barcelona, Argentina), Nesta (AC Milan, Italy), Pirlo (AC Milan, Italy), Ribery (Bayern Munich, France), Riquelme (Villarreal, Argentina), Ronaldinho (Barcelona, Brazil), Rooney (Man Utd, England), Terry (Chelsea, England), Tevez (Man Utd, Argentina), Thuram (Barcelona, France), Torres (Liverpool, Spain), Van Nistelrooy (Real Madrid, Holland), Vieira (Inter Milan, France).

But that list is full of bull****. Even Stevie didnt have that good a year last year. I mean ffs what are:

    1.Buffon
    2.Cannavaro
    3.Cech
    4. Deco
    5. Eto'o
    6, Gattuso
    7, Henry
    8. Nesta
    9, Riqueleme
    10. Tevez
    11. Thuram

doing on the list? All of them have either not played top flight footy, been injured, out of form, not playing or just had 5/6 decent games towards the end of the season.

well no! I did point out that Stevie was poor last season, not sure how good/bad Torres was but I know he didnt score that many goals. But if it was just based on goals scored then Alves should have been on the list.

There's always a standard list of big names who'll make the list.

Kaka should win it. If it was based on NOW, then Messi is the best in the world but it's based on last season.

Zlatan isn't on that list and he has been the best player in Italy together with Kaka and Totti.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

Totti and Zlatan were outstanding last season.

Speaking form a Liverpool point of view what did Stevie do to get on it he was below par last year?? And Torres what the hell did he do to get on it, these list's there a joke and Tevez??? Plays 3 good games in a team struggling to beat the drop and he gets put onto the FIFA player of the year list.....???

And many other's too i find baffling
When you feel like you're done, you are not alone........

I'm just amazed Figo, Zidane, Ronaldo, Raul and Carlos didnt make the list alomng with Beckham!

As for Zlatan, to be honest I've never thought too much off him, he's always looked poor whenever I've seen him play, but I am surprised Totti didnt make the list, he played well last year, scored a shed load of goals.

Kaka, Messi and maybe Essien/Drogba (yes I feel dirty) in that order.

Kaka should win it if you base it on his CL performances.

I would actually give it to Messi or Van Nistelrooy. Both of them have been better in the league but not as good as Kaka in the CL.

RvN was excellent in the league the last months last season and scored goals right, left and centre.
