That Treble season 00-01, I was back home in POOL for honeymoon and got the chance to watch the REDS at Anfield.
Ziege was utter BUNK, watching from the KOP he was playing LB but ended up either pushing too far forward or tucking in midfield.
His positional sense was so amateurish it was unbelievable.
We heard Hyypia shout at him "Christian come back, come back" so many times. He made the Slovan Liberec winger that night look like Garincha.

Ziege was a flop at Anfield (left foot delivery aside) but I don't blame him totally - he was asked to play in a position which was new to him & against the way he played in Germany (where he was a wing back). What I cannot forgive though is when,towards the end, he appeared to stop caring and putting in the effort. I'd give almost anything to have been able to pull on a Liverpool shirt so it really pisses me off if someone who has been given that privelege doesn't give everything for the shirt...give me a Joey Jones or a Carra over some fancy dan who is just at Anfield for the money any day !
