Dad's from Kenny, mum's born in Walton and bought up in Maghull. Was given the choice of who to support When i was about 4 but was told I wasn't allowed to support Man Utd (thank god!). Think I just decided life would be easier and less work if I supported the same team as everyone else, so naturally my choice was made out of laziness, haha.
First match was The FA Cup game in 1992 against Ipswich (was a replay) in which we 3-2.
Think I come out with such crackers as "whats the score dad?"
"3-2 son"
"Who to?"
"Us"
"Oh right- how many have Ipswich scored then?"
Hahaha
Either way I ****ing loved it and my real memory of the game was Molby's crashing free-kick.
If i wasn't a red I wouldn't support any of the top flight clubs- i ****ing hate the lot of them.
I'm reasonably local to Stoke but as I do also hate Stoke- I'd be a Vale fan. Got a few mates who are Valeys and occasionally go if we're not playing which is always a giggle.
Still- i'm not sure supporting any other club in the top flight would be an option at all anyway, not ONE of those 19 clubs could have bought me the happiness this club has over the last 3 years anyway.
For every Tottenham at home and Marseille at home there's been 3 Chelsea Semi's, Istanbul, Cardiff twice and a day out in Athens Along with a lot of other funny days!

Hiya mate. Who's yer nan? I lived in Wernbrook Rd when I was a kid. Used to play footy at the end of our street with the early arrivals for the match. We used to the go up for 3/4 time. On European nights some guy also used to leave his window down on his car about 2" and leave the radio on so we could listen to the match. ****ing great days.Originally posted by Tinkerbitch View PostBorn into a red family. Nana lived in Wernbrook Rd Anfield, could hear the kop before I ever saw it or stood on it. Dad took me aged 7. I can't contemplate any other options.I have one word to offer - honesty. I couldn't be devious if I tried. Joe Fagan.

Not really sure how it would've worked out for me, I probably wouldn't be a football supporter at all if LFC didn't exist. Never got into footy at all till my early teens, about the same time Owen was breaking into the first team. My dad and grandad were always trying to get me into LFC, but it just wasn't happening, but then again the 90's wasn't exactly the most exciting time to be an LFC supporter, Fowler asside.
I think the slow rise of LFC back to prominence in the late 90's and the trebble year made a supporter out of me in the end, I doubt this would have happened if LFC didn't exist and the rest of my family supported Everton.Thomas Hicks Senior
