Finnan won't be leaving. He's one of our most consistent players, rarely injured and he's just signed a new contract.

Cant see those four bringing in £20m...Crouch maybe £10m and Riise about £4m. Kewell's contract's up in the summer so he's worthless and Finnan's too old to fetch much.

Agree we wouldn't get £20-25m for those 4 & wouldn't entertain the notion of getting rid of Finnan at this moment. Couldn't see us getting more than £8m for Crouch as he'll only have 18 months left on his contract but would expect to get around £6m for Riise

The question about the centre back is are we looking for cover or are we looking for a top class centre back to push Carra & Agger for a first team place. Don't get me wrong, I love them both and hope they'll be around for a long time but it's not healthy to be assured of your place because like it or not complacency will set in and neither's position has been put under pressure for some time and both are automatic starters when fit. You saw how Finnan raised his game when he had competition, IMO same has to happen at CB

mate, there is no way Rafa would spunk all the budget on the players youve mentioned. Why on earth would he buy a "world class cb" and then stick him at lb? Queresma haha! did you see him play against us? ok he looked tricky but how many crosses did he put in and out of those how many caused us problems? He is a player who has no substance and is vastly vastly overpriced.

For what it's worth I wouldnt be surprised if the players you've mentioned get shipped out and we get in someone like Heinze and maybe a little gem from Spain .

I do try to value people's opinions, but I disagree completely with one thing - Chillini. I wouldn't even class Chillini as average. I've seen him play a few times and I've not been impressed with him at all and could not understand why we were/are linked with him.

I agree. It would take millions to replace a player like Finnan and even then it would probably be some over paid foreigner who couldn't tackle his way out of a paper bag. Finnan is a Liverpool fc legend and I've seen nothing this year to suggest that he's even close to losing it.
