Not a chance on earth. He's not a moron and neither are we. If we are really contemplating this there is nothing left to football at all but theatre, and who really goes to see that?Experimental music, Metropolitan foodstuffs, Mexican wrestler art, London suburbia, wry whimsy, fansy pants flim flam lad

Na, we got Nigel instead. I'm sure we were after Roy too.Originally posted by Ben Tover View PostDidn't Souness reject him after he was offered to us from Forest?
Shame that, could have been decent for us
Still Nigel did start our comeback in the 3 all special.Experimental music, Metropolitan foodstuffs, Mexican wrestler art, London suburbia, wry whimsy, fansy pants flim flam lad

I would prefer to have had Keane. But my memory is he preferred United. So we got Clough. Who got the better deal isn't in doubt but Souness rejecting him is a bit of a laugh.Originally posted by Ben Tover View PostSeriously, would you have had Nigel Clough or Roy Keane who was described as world class when the scum won the treble?Experimental music, Metropolitan foodstuffs, Mexican wrestler art, London suburbia, wry whimsy, fansy pants flim flam lad

That is what I was told. The Souness era was a wee bit too early for me so I can't actually comment.Originally posted by Venton View PostI would prefer to have had Keane. I'm no insider mate, I was just following the talk at the time. I do think he is a make or break kind of player and we would probably have seen a title before now if we had got him. I still remember when Jason Mac was described as the new Roy Keane...Originally posted by Ben Tover View PostThat is what I was told. another debate the souey one but he had a very very hard job to do - he just tried to do it all at once and fooked it up
