If it came down to it

and FIFA/UEFA brought back the 3 foreigners rule in order to assist National set up, which 3 of our foreigners would you keep?

    I would keep hold of:

    Agger
    Torres
    Alonso

I would have kept Pepe if I could but I suppose we do have Carson as cover instead.

I think I would go Pepe, Alonso, Torres but I'm very tempted to swap Torres for Agger. It really depends on who we would have as the alternatives I guess. I can't see any home grown players who fit into Rafas tactical thinking as well as Reina, Agger and Alonso but there is a d'earth of good British forwards and the name of the game is scoring goals so Torres just gets the nod.

I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

well would the Irish/Welsh/Scots be classed as Foreign? Could take Gordon as the goalie.
As for a British striker, maybe Robbie Keane (as mentioned in another thread)

          Pepe, Xabi & Torres.

Play in three of the most important positions on the field for any team. Agger would be sad to go but i suspect a good manager would replace him easier than the others.

            Reina, Agger and Torres.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

well I suppose Richards or maybe Taylor could slot into the Defence, but Agger is a much better plater than both of them.

Torres, Masher & Agger for me.
I think they more or less pick themselves to be honest. As good as Pepe is, Carson is a ready made replacement whereas which English players could replace the 3 players I've picked.

none that we could afford or would come to us (thinking Rooney and Richards as for the midfielders, well Scott Parker is alway avaiable)

Richards is a good shout but I'd prefer Nicky Butt to Scott Parker myself.

I agree although i suspect Richards will be as good. Pepe I wouldn't sell for any keeper let alone an english one. Xabi I believe is underrated a lot and Torres looks class and class forwards are hard to find. Especially English ones.

Isn't it five years a player must have been in England before he gets a English passport?

If that is the case then Xabi would be able to get one in 2009 so that would solve that problem because FIFA/UEFA would never be able to force through the change before then.
