Lescott got so much room because Gerrard was wandering inside so much. Without Gerrard producing yet another lung-bursting run through the middle, we wouldn't have changed the game. Rafa needs to take heed. If he's blaming Stevie for not staying wide then he shouldn't - he should be thanking him for turning the game.

well when everyone else on here was saying we were easily going to win the title I said I wouldn't be surprised to see a repeat of last season... if that counts for anything.

Yeah, when you're looking to win a game against ten men you'd think Crouch would be a prime candidate to come on at some stage.

You have to feel sorry for the lad.

At this rate I can't see him last past the January transfer window.

I like Crouch - as a player and a person - but I don't feel sorry for him. He has done nothing this season to warrant a place, imo. He was also very poor as a sub during the week with England.
