Got to say I was screaming at him when Voronin had that early shot that the keeper spilled, and Dirk was standing, motionless alongside the penalty spot! But it took real guts to take those two pens, particularly the second, and by virtue of those he's won us the game today.

Comedy post of the day. I know neither player are everyones cup of tea but both had good games today.

Kuyt showed more bottle than anyone else standing up to take the two pens and I thought Voronin was decent apart from that silly miss in the second half - still the best free transfer of the summer anywhere IMO.

Watching Voronin against the Scots last week as well, he was the best player on the pitch. To say he is muck is ludicrous and very shortsighted.

I don't see how our strikers (excluding Torres) can win on here.

Whoever plays gets invariably slated for not taking their chances, and if everyone calls for the striker not playing to be given a chance. But then the next game when they are, they too get slated for playing badly. We came third last year without Torres, so players like Crouch and Kuyt have to contributing somewhat. And to be honest, Torres has had as many off games as any of the other strikers, it's just when he plays well, he plays really well.

Players like Torres, Gerrard and even Babel are treated like they're infallible, yet Torres played the whole match in the only game we've lost this season, and has only scored in 4 out of 12 games, Gerrard has been out of form for months, and Babel has none very little to impress me so far

Kuyt isn't good enough in the position he plays in but he works his socks off doing what Rafa tells him to do.

It's a part of Rafa's system that the second striker works very hard to create space for the top striker.

We will just have to live with it.
